Well, with such a high piracy rate, and the draconian DRM in almost every game of the last few years on PC, it's just less hassle to download it now. I go to download for most stuff unless it's significantly cheaper in a box.

You're locked in anyway, why have another box lying around with a disk that is useless without a code?

For Focus though I thought they'd be pleased with the situation - their games are pretty niche and it's exactly th...

Good race - he was overtaken by the AI at the end and decided to cut a few corners to get back to 2nd place :) Think that'll be a stewards enquiry...

Defo. D2D has had ridiculously high prices in the past and also locked games into their service in certain territories.

I generally prefer Impulse for downloads and Steam second, but D2D could be back on with this move.

Could just be a score for hits?

Demo looked OK although it was very Burnout-like I thought.

Still seems fun though and I would've bought it if not for GT5.

Convincing..... The problem is that for the AI to be "convincing" around the player, the player also needs to drive in a "convincing" way.

In past GTs, you could either try and race and overtake cleanly and everything seemed good, or you could get desperate and overtake in an unrealistic way (generally just bouncing off the AI) and things didn't look good.

In F1 2010 (for example!) the AI jumps out of the players way a lot - no matter ...

Ha. I rather like my Wii, but having lots of consoles and a PC means having lots of choices of entertainment....

That means the Wii games have to be genuinely good - not just "good for a Wii" game.

See you next year for your next comment - and don't go changing!!! lol

I think reviews for this game from the gaming sites is already a bit pointless now.

A large number of people already have it, by tomorrow I think most of the Euro pre-orders will be delivered and from there the players will make up their own minds.

Too late for reviewers to be much value I'd say.

But I do predict a network meltdown on Wednesday when everyone tries to go online - I hope PD got that side of things squared away, but if it w...

As with Kinect I guess - got to keep those bad reviews under wraps right?

Strange since I have a PC, Wii, 360, PS3, PSP, several DS's, GC, N64, PS2, Xbox1.... well let's not go there. And yet somehow, I can just about squeeze the time in to look at gaming news and leave a comment or two.

Even in the Wii section lol!

Wherever these Hardcore Wii players are - they don't come to N4G. The Wii news is just dead and devoid of commenting for 99% of the articles.

I think the vast majority of Wii owners just don't care about their games.

The same is happening now to the 360 news which has seen a sharp decline in the last year or so.

Perhaps that's the price you pay for having a "casual gamer" audience and user base. The passion for gaming is...

Well in F1 2010 for example, if you stick your car into the Apex of a corner, the AI just backs out of it - in reality, in F1 you'd probably get a collision and be out of the race (or into the pits for a front wing).

Once the AI is behind you in F1 2010, it won't really aggressively try to pass - again just flinging the car across the AI's path will cause it to back out.

That's not to say F1 2010 has "bad" AI since it won't wreck...

For me and a lot of other PS3 owners, this is the most anticipated game of the generation, nvm the year.

AI - pffff.

1) Look at the "good" AI in something like F1 2010 - it's "good" because it is extremely cautious - effectively it jumps out of the way of the player at every opportunity. Not realistic because of (2)

2) Play some serious online racing - I personally use iRacing right now a lot, and a little bit of LFS and netKar. People racing each other online demonstrate all the facets of "bad AI" - they can't overtake with...

I think you underestimate how GT5 is viewed in PS3-land.

Look around the GT related-forums. People are buying logitech wheels and stands for it at an amazing rate - and dropping $200 - $500 plus in the process.

Already over on Neogaf, GT5 has more posts than Kinect and about 70% of BlOps as a whole and this is before GT5 is released.

Personally, if it weren't for GT5 I'd have already picked up AC and NFS:HP - but with GT5 so close I j...

Presumably for consoles he's referring to Eyetoy and on PC, well besides TrackIR (which of course specialises in head tracking) there are a few other Webcam based tracking/interaction tools.

I think if Sony are heavily involved this is more likely than a L4D/PS3 announcement.

However, with only a year since UC2 I think this wouldn't be much more than a short trailer (I wasn't a big fan of The Agent reveal or Resistance 3 due to lack of anything apart from the game name) and we may be looking at a late 2011 release target which then probably slips to early 2012...

Imagine what PD might of done with 1Gb of RAM!

Just to clarify, the replays use an extra step AA and motion blur - these 2 things differentiate them from in game.

EDIT : A similar thing is done in that other game btw but it still doesn't match GT5P of course.

The Wii's best games are all ports of some type or other.

Why fix it if it ain't broke. Besides which, the casuals who play Wii haven't seen this games before so it all seems new to them lol.
