This gen has just had it's best year - GT5 was released :)
I mean, 2011 has some top quality exlusive and mulitplat stuff, but.... come on - GT5 dude!

Not for every exclusive no - certainly no one accused the reviewers of playing Kinect games for too short a time lol.
Don't know about this though - just seems too shallow to be worth the (budget) price, but I'd like to try it out after this vid.

Plagued by connection issues? - you must be joking! Considering the numbers of people trying to hammer the online, the surprise is that it has worked at all, and as far as I can tell the majority have managed to enjoy the game perfectly well so far.
A few of the big FPS's could learn a thing or two from this launch and the quick response PD made to the initial problem of server overloading.

No problems for me, the response to the online at Gaf has been very positive and generally good at GTP.

It's got flaws and it is still the greatest game about cars ever, and judging by the people falling over themselves to comment about it, the biggest game this gen.
If there are games out there which are given 10/10, then GT5 also deserves a 10/10.
It was the same with MGS4 - majority of reviewers just didn't get it and neither did certain console owners (the ones who play sales and hype rather than the games).

Well I think this was pretty well known once 3.51 was released - either way, it looks like Sony and PD will sell a gazzillion of these again.

^^ If you had played GT5 you would know 2 things
1) It's challenge is legendary even without damage and
2) GT series has always followed this structure.
It's like Princess Peach getting kidnapped in Mario, GT has this structure so that only the dedicated see the game through to completion.
It's what makes GT so great. Still wasting time on here isn't getting the 'ring challenges done! So you guys stay here and trol...

^^ Look, if you simply bought and played GT5 like everyone else in the world, you'd be having a lot more fun now than trolling GT5 threads.
Damage is levelled for a simple GAMEPLAY reason - you start with limited cash, paying for repairs to your first few cars will put you in the poor house. If you want to play with damage just go online.
The AI is actually good this time round and certainly superior to for example F1 2010 which often praised.

Your definition of AAA is erroneous. GT5 is perhaps the most AAA game of this gen - you should look up terms before you use them and demonstrate your ignorance.

The damage modelling is already very good and in keeping with the style of GT5. Sadly, very few people have put the hours in to unlock it yet.
Why is it locked you ask? Because you have to pay to repair your cars - at lower levels the cost of repairs would be such that you'd be unable to buy replacements or upgrades...
