Those pics make it look like a lame turnout....
The funniest is the middle pic. There's an area in the middle with barriers for the line with about 15 people in it. All around the outside are people just looking at the line.
So the line for Kinect more interesting than Kinect itself lolz.
At least in the West Kinect had decent day one sales due to preorders and novelty value.

"Looks Really Awesome"
Bit of a lame title huh? These are low res youtube vids looking better in terms of realism than any other sim or game to date (including the PC ones of which I've played a lot).
Perhaps a better title would be :
"Is the new benchmark for graphical realism in games"

But the HUD is customizable this time (as is the Field of View setting), oh and the HUD can be switched off in replays.
While I like the idea of going HUDless in game, as every sim has showed it's just not really practical if you want a decent field of view and access to vital car data.

It is entirely awesome - more cars are modelled this way in GT5 than were in GT3 in total (180-ish vs 220-ish).
Given that this was/is the level PD aimed for, it is regrettable but understandable that they didn't have the resources/time to do this for an additional 800 cars.
Still, GT3 managed to sell almost 15mil and has a meta of 95.... But those were happier days when people just played the games rather than the sales or the meta rating like we do ...
That is super cool data. Spent a lot of time in telemetry tools looking at plots for netKar, LFS and iRacing.
This really helps to optimse lap times and is a vital component of any simulation software.

Man the QQ-ing around over GT5 is just immense by those who hoped it'd never see release.
GT5 looks like a great game and in terms of car sims/games is an essential purchase - the amount of whining greeting it is confirmation.
Well I guess there are some people who deserve one buggy, derivative FPS after another and the 9 ratings the press gives to them.

Not sure about that - why is everyone obsessed with Minority Report (film) style controls? It's clear that the system depicted in that film is clunky and unworkable for anything but the viewing of simplistic data.
Humans have excellent detailed controls with their hands - why effectively remove that wonder of evolution in exchange for coarse arm tracking? Makes no sense at all.
It's like voice control - these are ideas from Sci Fi that seem great ...
Very nice graphics.
Yet another vid though with driving aids on and a pad users judging from the jerky controlling.
"Set phasers to fun!!"

No. No link between MS GFWL marketing, and no to this survey.
After all, as the article says, this is a poll of GFWL users which is a tiny proportion of PC gamers. So over 50% of GFWL users use a pad - no surprise really, those games are multiplat with the 360 so the controls are designed for that pad.
As for GFWL - it's jsut a periphery sevice on PC atm. It'll take a lot more investment to compete with Steam, Impulse and even Direct2Drive in the ...
Well sometimes a hacked product sales best to a completely different audience than anticipated - it's been a common with things like DVD players (the region free hackable ones sell best), the Ipods that could be hacked with rockbox, various phones, consoles etc.
If this gets those Kinect boxes off the shelves then I'm sure MS will be happy with that outcome, it'll help them recoup their investment. They lose on xbox game sales I guess, but they'll probabaly ...
"Still don't get why everyone hates on it so much. It is actually a cool device."
Well besides the sibling rivalry of PS3 vs 360 I think a lot of "traditional" gamers aren't happy that they're not getting the games they expect from a console like the 360 and in exchange they get games you want to play for "about an hour a day" (if you're a kid).

Sessler : GT5 One of the most anticpiated games of THIS HOLIDAY SEASON.
Out of touch with the audience there dude.
And MCR .... not the best choice, or is it? I dunno - ok I guess.

Yeah but... just imagine that flat, flat paper.....hmmmm flaaatttt paper.
Just think about it, k?

I don't think there are many "MS" loyalists - just like there aren't really Sony ones.
There are people who like their 360s more than PS3 and vice versa, but the companies themselves have to diverse a product range really generate a following in the way that say Apple does.
For MS as a corporation, things are looking bad because they have reached saturation in the desktop OS and Office software spaces and the only competition left is from th...
^^ Well that response convinced me - I'm a-making this unknown site my homepage..... done.
On topic : Not gonna matter since this won't get approved and therefore it'll disappear into the internet dustbin that is everything outside of N4G articles lol

Indeed - this is getting a better reception than I expected. Think I'll take a look at this in the run up to Christmas.

As depressing as it is, games have got a long way to go in script terms to match even the most facile cinema :/

If the news is anything to go by everyone in school is armed anyway, they should call this School Shooter Simulator and market it to kids properly....

Around here if a console exclusive doesn't sell 4 gazillion on day 1 it's a flop.
Doesn't matter what game it is, whether its quality, innovative or whatever - sales are all that matter.
Madness huh? That's how every PS3 exclusive has been judged for the last 4 years....
How odd that gamers don't care about the games but only about the sales...
Anyway, in summary, Alan Wake = flop - it has to be, otherwise...
You're right - the actual video up there is just the lap, the datalogger is this one lol.
