I've played all the Twisted Metal games (although some of them not for long).
I find them fun, but I sort of feel like the world has moved on - it seems these days everyone wants realism without the.... well, realism :)
Twisted Metal just seems a bit too zany to be a big hit with gaming fashion being what it is. I'll still get it day one though - if for no other reason than to support the developer.

Frankly, Shift is of no interest to me (until/unless they improve the simulation aspects), so I'm referring to the way this is posted right here on N4G.
If you want to be helpful, maybe you can go and report all the articles in the pending pile that are mis-titled.
It'll take you a while.
The reality is, these sites want hits from the GT5 crowd - I'm not going to give it to them.

Well maybe it's a "right back at ya!" thing.
360 with a year "head start" apparently had nothing to do with PS3 not overtaking it in sales day one.
So what goes around comes around - how come Kintec hasn't outsold the lowly, unmarketed, wii-rip off Move - it only had 1 month head start.

Actually, Sony specifically exclude Nav sales from the press releases.
But this is N4G - no one reads the news so it's no surprise you look like an idiot right about now lol.

"I don't think 360 gamers are missing anything"
Apart from some exclusives.... MS would be overjoyed if Bungie had said something like this, they didn't and neither has anyone else.
Personally, I'm looking forward to TM, but I don't think it's going to set the world on fire because it just isn't a deep kind of game style.

Shift could be decent enough but they have to change a fair few things.
Mainly the physics and handling which felt more like a Tron lightcycle than a car on edge of grip.
Still, maybe they'll do it right this time but the BS coming from the devs (which is reminiscient of T10 actually) needs to be stopped. That just reeks of desperation and trying to jump on the GT5 bandwagon.

Hmmm - seems a bit weak right now, but I wonder if this can comepte with Tiger in future. Seems like the gameplay is promising but the presentation is just not high enough.

Indeed it does - only the severity changes and at lower levels it can be pretty subtle and take a big shunt as well.
First time I spotted it messing with photo mode in a replay at level 2 - I had to do a double take. Thought there was something wrong with my eyes until I realized there was a nice dent and some scuffing on my left wing :)
Sadly it gets more severe as you progress through levels and is ruining all my lovely videos due to some <ahem> drivi...
Will they make more than 10000 this time? Will they make it so it doesn't break so easily?
But most important of all, will they make it so that it is worth the money ($350 + shipping and taxes).
The clubsport pedals feel great (particularly the load-cell brake), the wheel is solid but on the whole, it isn't twice as good as the competition (well, competition on other platforms - 360 has crap wheels) but it is very near twice as much in price.
...
I think there was a hope they would stem the tide of GT5 articles - looks like that didn't work :P

Well..... Nah won't go there.
But this is better news than earlier reports then - 4.1 mil Moves sold by Sony, and that number doesn't include Navi controllers and standalone Eye Cams for those who purchased the bits individually.
Looks like we have a winner for HD motion controls :)
Thankfully this time the "core" gamers get something they can at least tolerate - picture would have been much different if Move hadn't outs...
Yeah but like the title :
"2011: Year Of The PlayStation 3? Just Like Every Other Year Then"
I'm not sure "Every other year" has been been Sony's since year one for PS3 was tricky, apart from that I guess I'd agree with the title.
It'd be easy for Sony to get complacent now the hard work is done but I think with the first party strength they have things look pretty good for gamers.
^^ Wow - calm down dude. At the moment you sound like the one with the mental issues.
Just relax little guy, you can get those licenses done if you just practice a little. Otherwise, you can just put Kinectimals on - that game does't make you angry does it....
r.
I think you're confused dude = you'll only get $15 in exchange for a copy of GT5. You can't just wave your 360 around and ask for money ya know.
r.
You get damage from the lowest beginner levels - it's just the severity that gets worse as you progress.
Up to level 10 you need a big crash to get even a small dent. Up to 20, lower speed incidents lead to more damage and so on.
Pretty simple really.

I don't think you'll regret playing GT5 Micro.
As for Sony, well they don't advertise that much, they just don't seem as evangelical about this as MS is (neither are Ninty for that matter).
It's only MS that has tried to make this console gen a "holy" war, I just think Sony don't get it. It's just entertainment software, and for what you get, very good value, why spend more on marketing when word of mouth is just as good?...
Yeah I like Time Crisis although only in lightgun mode - not tried the "fps" mode and don't plan to :)
Looks like playstation is the only refuge for the "hardcore" now.
Let's hope Sony remembers that in the coming months and years - and with PS4!
r.
Looks like there's some lag in the internet - lots of articles pro-claiming great sales for Kintec, but subsequent reports confirm that Move has sold better still.
Guess we'll get the Move articles in another hour or two.

You can go to the public lobbies - you know that right? Just jump in a lobby that looks interesting with a bunch of strangers.
I find there is a pretty good turnover of people so there are always some new people to race.

Most disappointing is the limit of face tracking to certain mods. It works very well in the game in very variable lighting - such a shame it can't be enabled in all modes.
Having used TrackIR for a long time, I'm beginning to think it's days may be numbered if a PS3 can track your head with no supporting gizmos while throwing GT5 around.
