I think he's saying that there are people who'd buy this for the Christmas break or as a gift who won't then buy it in January or later.
PS3 has a lot of great games though - both multi and exclusive and they tend to sell steadily since there's so many to chose from (most people can't or won't get them all).
GT5 will do OK in the long even if it slips to next year - but I don't think it will at this stage.

And Cliffy B is for MEN hehe.

Kinect is like watching a car crash....
The whole gaming press, industry, public... everyone has been pointing out since "Kinect" was unveiled, that it is derivative, facile and in some cases just broken.
I'm beginning to feel bad for MS now - they've come up with a stinker and it's just sheer arrogance that has brought them to this point. Even so, no company, and certainly no loyal customers, deserve this level of enmity directed at the...
360/Kinect bundles were never sold out - MS official site even had them in stock yesterday.
r.
Um - surely it plays best on PC.
Still, gotta fund all those 360 "exclusives" somehow...
r.
Well, besides it being clear that today many US (online) stores have the standalone Kinect listed as in-stock, the 360/Kinect bundles were never sold out (as pre-orders...).
So, existing 360 owners have bought some of the standalone Kinect stock (but apparently not enough for it to be really sold out today), and there aren't enough new casual gamers buying 360/Kinect bundles to cause those to be sold out....
Can the internet be right and MS is really tryi...
Only for the small portion of people have Kinect....
r.
Oh yeah sure - this is a new GT, the first full release on the PS3 and what must be the fullest featured game about cars anywhere.
There are a lot of people who'll simply be purchasing this whenever it arrives (within the lifetime of the PS3 itself of course!)
Really, times of year don't matter for a product with as much market presence and following as this.
Really though Sony need to get this sold and start the work rolling on GT6. ...
The Eyetoy:Play has 8/10 at Metacritic. I think Kinect and it's games will struggle to have by the time the dust settles lol.
<Picks up phone> Hey Stevie B- the $500 million isn't working. I propose packing in Lipstick and Nail Polish for all those Oprah Moms who aren't buying it!

^^ You're confused. The Mayan's have no special information about any "end of the World".
20 years ago, it was Nostradamus, then a few cults sparng up for the Millenium and now it's Mayan's.
Don't let yourself be convinced by ancient myths and hokum theories.

Boy this launch date is more elusive than Snake in a Box....
I thought I'd fatigued out on it but reading some of the latest preview stuff has got me looking forward again.
Do it Sony!
r.
Kinect "back" in stock? I think they mean Kinect was "never out of" stock.
I guess the US sales have been slower than hoped by MS so they're shipping over the unsold boxes and giving up the "lack of stock" marketing ploy...
r.
^^ Nice cherry picking of sites there. Eyetot:Play has 8/10 on metacritic - shall we see if Kinect manages that?
r.
Hey come on this is better than Move's launch games!!!
<Double checks score>
Oh... um nvm.
r.
^^It removes the purpose of Kinect.
How much body can you do when your hands are both on a controller?
You don't need a $150 web cam for what small movements remain when a $15 one would do.
r.
Who knows - Dead Space extraction, besides the Move and Coop modes also supports DS3. If they can manage control cross over there it's still potentially going to be that way for Dead Space 2.
Maybe.

<sigh> Look I'll sum it up real easy.
PSN gives you 90% of the equivalent functions of Live, at 0% of the cost.
Next!

No.... I wonder how much say Kaz has now anyway. "Assuming" the disc pressing statement was accurate, from here on out it may be down to Sony exactly when the trigger is pulled.
Difficult to believe they'd hold it back just for marketing reasons though.
r.
They're worried that pirates will be able to copy the Kinect games and play them using a PS2 EyeToy Cam hehe. Got to make sure people have to buy MS's cam now ;)
r.
Lucky Sony thought ahead and allows cheap, market standard HDDs to be fitted to all PS3s....
Even so, this game will take up 0Gbs on my drive ;)
(Actually that's a lie, I'll prolly rent it).
