That's actually kind of funny LOL.

Oh, and also in your case since its a ps1 game you care about, your good with any sku as ALL skews handle PS1 games, the 40 will not handle PS2 though.

I don't think this is the "BIG" announcement, as this was Gamespot's own "BIG" announcement. They said on the last On the Spot that they had a huge announcement on the 15th. And this was it.

I wish they had used an actual flatscreen HDTV!! Using a CRT (HD or not) for these kinds of comparisons is retarded. When I played PGR3 it had all kinds of rediculous jaggies everywhere, due to the total lack of AA. From the HD gameplay footage I've seen of PGR4, most of these seem to been eliminated.

But I can't see those differences in this comparo. Anybody got the two games and can make a quick in-game comparo? I think it will highlight the differences much better. Wha...

I totally agree with Cnet about the Bravia XBR4's, I saw one in the Sony Styles store in San Francisco. That TV puts almost everything else (aside from ultra high end plasma) to shame.

Anyone got the new 81 series Samsung with the LED backlighting that Cnet is referring to?? I am highly intrigued about that one as there seems to be a lot of hype around it.

A little harsh, but true. Hey, though hardcore PS fanboys do it too (the ones so extreme as to bash ME--arguably the best exclusive about to hit the 360) until news appears that there is possibility that the series could end up on PS3 too, well then all of a sudden its a fantastic game franchise and will look even better on PS3, etc. LOL

Element, do yourself as favor, Dl the demo. It is gonna take a while, but it is so well worth it. The animations are complete, there is extra dialogue that wasn't fully in the earlier build, no screen tearing, near rock solid 60 FPS all the way through, tighter controls, totally satisfying destruction and nuanced details. The PSN demo is much better than the demo disk build.

It will be really interesting to see how much next-gen Jak improves from this. Ratchet looks a lot better than Resistence, I wonder if The Lost Frontier will similarly be an improvement on Uncharted..Damn, will it even be noticeable--Uncharted looks so amazing already its heard to imagine how something (especially cartoony like Jak) is going to manage to look even better, LOL!

When 1up is praising a PS3 game, you know it is a damn good game! I see that aside from the now totally solid looking gameplay, the graphics are still even being improved as the video shows. Some of the cutscene footgage really is almost on par with pre-rendered graphics. I noticed also that it clearly has more layers of polish added. I think they improved the Drake model, he looks much less plastic and more natural now.

This game is exactly the reason why I find it retardedly hilarious when the 360-sided blogs (and media) say there are no compelling games in the near future for PS3-and therefore Sony is "going to struggle" LOLOLOLOL! This (and several other very compelling games) plus the 400 dollar price point=Sony meeting its target by March 2008, period.

I mean this sincerely, although I am bitter right now that my 360 is heading back to MS for post RROD reconstruction, good luck ...

So, so glad I preordered this. Played both the E3 version of demo and the PSN version. There are definite difference between them The demo disk version IS the E3 demo code. It features screen tearing some pretty bad framerate hits and the controls are a bit off.

The downloaded version is near final build quality and oh my, the difference is night and day!!! The controls are super-tight, I think it is even an improvement over the first 2-3 games. Everything is so polished, the f...

Uwe Boll isn't the most hated man in gaming, he is the most hated man in the entertainment industry. ROTFLMFAO at Boll's not enough emotion in Halo being the reason he wouldn't make a good Halo movie. What Boll movie has any emotion at all??!!!! The man is an idiot when it comes to making movies, videogame or otherwise. I wish he would find a new profession.

Yeah, the sixaxis stuff in the demo was great! And it sounds like the rest of the implementation (controlling Tornado Launcher, etc) was really well done as well. I like what IG games has said so far. They actually removed tilty functionality from some parts cause it didn't work. Some other dev's seem to want to add it to everything under the sun, making it really feel gimicky, go Insomniac!!!!

I totally agree, those who buy the 40 gig PS3 will buy LOTS of PS3 games, because they wont be able to just keep playing PS2 games on it. I'll bet however, that as soon as the PS2 is discontinued..3 more years or so, the the full PS2 emulation software will "magically" appear as a firmware update.

Or, Sony already has it working and as soon as they get to the point of good enough profit on PS3 they will be able to afford to add the feature back.

Very good cover art!
Sidenote: I just saw in gamestop for the very first time a giant PS3 poster for RCF:TOD in the front window. It was on the other side of the Halo 3 poster and was quite compelling. It seems that Sony is finally stepping up its ad campaign. Should be an interesting holiday season!!

If this gets approved I would like to point out how much of a clueless F-tard the author is: Huh, gee by his logic, he should propose to his girlfriend with a ring featuring a rock of coal because she will be just as excited as if the rock were diamond since both are still carbon!!

IDIOT.

I think I have found the perfect story to bookmark here. There is a definite pattern to things: FUD comes in to cloud ANYTHING Sony is about to do or just done. Ever since the PS3 launched this is how the media has responded. Correct me if I'm wrong, Isn't Sony supposed to make a giant announcement in two days? Or was that a fake rumor?

Anyhow, regardless, I am not a fanboy: I own both a 360 and PS3. Yet, unfortunately, at the moment the PS3 is the only console I can play ...

I think that is a pretty reasonable price reduction scheme. For me, the wild card is if MS can fix their hardware issues and attain diverse studio support. Honestly, I'm not sure either of these will happen. They haven't yet, and they have had now almost two years..

The diverse games thing is far more important than people give credit to. Hardcore 360 fanboys seem to think that the world plays shooters and western style RPG's above all others. I'm sorry, not only is that n...
