The hair texture quality and the sheer high fidelity of it are what really make this look CG especially in motion. If this really is PS4/ Durango bring them on!
BTW.......Anyone else see similarities.....??
Sqeeninx is apparently looking for feedback on this demo. whether we would like to see this in a game..

Western release please!!!! Come on Square-Enix do at least one thing right this gen. Give is this game.
@ Cloud. I understand your frustration.. but look at FF 12 That game did take 5 Years to make, yeah this one has taken 6 still it is a massive JRPG. Or all RPGs it seems that JRPG's are typically the longest between releases.. The main problem is that Square chose to show a concept trailer at E3 2006 before they even had a gameplay engine. Had this game been revealed..say last year, no one would be bitching nearly this much.
I wish they would just release a damn direct feed gameplay vid, cause these offscreen videos are incredibly mis-leading. This does look quite a bit better than GT, I think that is due to the imperfections being hidden by filming the TV screen. It would surprise (and delight me) if turn 10 really can get "the exact same lighting engine as that used in autovista mode" cause if that is really true, this would for sure look more realistic than GT5...The direct feed trailers of autovis...
Of course Ps3 and 360 can run them..it will just be in black and white, or 8 bit blocky greyscale, lol.
Good on you! I did as well. I thought the internet censorship bills were rediculous...Well I have to hand it to our Congress, just when you think they can't possibly do something more wrogheaded and innane than the last, ding, they do!
Ah, No.
Devs are CHOOSING not to get performance out of Powerful PC's in favor of coding for the lowest common denominator consoles.
Fail, you are talking about Qaa, not MLAA
Most PS3 Multi-Titles (GTA, RDR, Bioshock, etc) and (pre GOW3 exclusives) all used quinqunx anti-aliasing which in effect just creates a sort of blur filter over everything, texture detail suffers massively at the expense of edges looking smooth.
MLAA on the otherhand, works on finding edges by analysing the pixel structure in combination with using a depth buffer. It doesn't work on geometry at all. High contrast areas ...
OK Maybe I need to ammend my earlier statements, I just finally watched the new Hoard 2.0 footage from E3...The trees may well end up looking this good. I have to say, I am very impressed with how 3-dimensional the game really looks now, the lighting makes at really all "pop" better. Plus, the game does look like it will be a blast to play. I'm now officially looking forwards to this game.
That is precisely my point!
It does look good, however forgive me if I'm a little sceptical..THIS is what the trees in the original Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3 were supposed to look like...
Take a gander at the shots I linked from 2005..
The last one I included shows what the actual foliage looked like in the first game..
I know it got better in Gears 2 and FINALLY the third game seems to actually exhibit the lighting quality that you see in those early pics that we...
Sorry, not that impressed...Sure it is sharper, but the lighting still sucks and looks cartoony (unlike Crysis 1) and especially Battlefield 3 PC.
Here ya go.

FYI, DICE have not and hopefully never will use pre-rendered offline CG in thier Battlefield games.
Wow, it is interesting to me that it was about five years that the Blur Studios CG people were asked if the Killzone trailer could be done on real hardware in realtime, their response was 2-3 years.... well, as good as the PS3 KZ games look, I have to say, this (especially the first 2 screens) is a true match for that trailer especially as far as character detail and animation goes. I think it comes down to the mind-blowing lighting (and of course the texture work). What do you all think?
You just know that the whomever doesn't make the initial cut, will be added as DLC later...
At least teh game looks rad...(iculous) as it should! They finally came to their senses and made it for platforms people will buy it for too!! I can't wait!
I think that Deadly descents trailer was supposed to showcase just the new feature of survival mode..it was really missleading (and I think a mistake) though. I am quite pleased that the overall game is still true to the spirit of the original.
Also hearing how survival mode actually will be implemented sounds really cool (no pre scripting, all physics based) wow, can't wait to see it in action. Maybe vid five will give us a sneek peak at the new feature..if not, E3!
OMG!! THIS is actually awesome and is the SSX we all know and love. Amazing that EA actually heard us and changed it back to what it should be, none of that BS "dark realistic" tone. They even ditched the rediculous subtitle! I am so looking forwards to this!! A too much delayed return to fun, silly, over the top snowboarding!!
Here is how the decision to make this absurd statement and release this equally horrible looking screenshot came about....
Devs sitting around the table during a break...
*inhale* phhhhuuuufffft...
*cough* *cough*
Dev A to Dev B, "Wow, that is some really good s@#%? there!!" Dev B to Dev A, "Yeah man, totally..Ohh, I have an idea!"
Thank you GT for finally posting this. much better than the partial video that leaked a couple days ago shot with iphone!
A lot of the people with an inside track on the specs of Durango and PS4 seem to think that this essentially will be doable next-gen (in-game quality not just realtime cutscene). I just hope that with this new supposedly more streamlined, easier to use graphics tech will allow the company to focus on GAMEPLAY quality so we have an experience worthy of ...
