True, and all of the trailers for the games in Arkham series have been awesome and way more beautiful than the actual games. Not saying that the games aren't pretty but there is a big difference in graphics. It remains to be seen how much smaller the difference will be now that they have the power of PS4 and Xbox1 to work with.
For some reason I have never found any Zelda game particularily enchanting. I also have to confess I have never finished any of the Zeldas I've played - which include Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time and Zelda 2. I think Starfox Adventures is a lot like Zeldas but (in my opinion) with more character, more humor and all around more "magic".
As for RE4, that game was a complete surprise for me too, just all around awesome, thrilling, and epic game.
And...
My personal top 10 would be something like this:
1) Super Mario Galaxy, 2) Super Mario Bros 3, 3) Monkey Island 2, 4) GTA, 5) Resident Evil 4, 6) Eternal Darkness, 7) Broken Sword, 8) Portal, 9) Starfox Adventures, 10) Donkey Kong Country
In the article Destiny is said to be one of the few truly next gen looking titles. I respectfully disagree. There are numerous better looking games either released or on the horizon, such as The Order, Division, KZ Shadow Fall, Ryse, Quantum Break, Deep Down, Watch Dogs, and MGS5, to mention just a few.
Great games there buddy. I would add Kirby's Epic Yarn, Mega Man X and Demon's Crest, although those might not be considered best platformers of all time by the majority of gamers. I would really like to play Rayman Legends too at some point too and having no experience of it, I can't contribute to the discussion on how it fairs as a representative of the genre.

PS4 is more powerful than X1 but come on, Ryse has definitely shown that X1 is certainly able to pull off amazing visuals as well. It'll be interesting to see if Remedy's Quantum Break equals or even surpasses Ryse in terms of visuals.
On topic: Order looks magnificent but so far the coree gameplay looks pretty traditional. Not to hold that against it since I don't hate traditional gameplay mechanics as long as there are surprises ahead as well.
Yeah, the gameplay seems quite fun and has potential but... the drab visuals just put me off. Sorry.
Am I the only one who thinks Titanfall is visually unimpressive?
They tell the Earth is warming but look at how cold it is at DK island. Global warming must be a hoax.
GotHDGame: The IGN review that 8th-circuit is referring to is from 2012.
The action, the general concept, and the art design are all top notch, but there's something bothersome about the lighting of the game. I guess it doesn't have anything to do with the Cryengine 4's limitations, seeing as how amazing visuals Ryse had. Maybe the developers have been a bit lazy with applying different gloss and refelection mapping settings? Somehow everything from the vegetation to humans to monsters seem too uniform in how light behaves on their surfaces. Also, wher...
Yeah, pretty much all games these days draw inspiration from past great games. That's just being smart. It's not ripoff.
I remember when a similar controversy popped up when Gears of War used the over-the-shoulder point of view ("2nd person") that was used first time in Resident Evil 4. These kinds of things are so general design decisions that it would be foolish to think they are copyrighted.
Same here, I didn't find Halo that great. My brother likes it very much though.
I'm more of a Metroid Prime guy.
noctis_lumia: There's nothing wrong with hoping that a game turns out to be great, in fact, I think that's a very nice attitude and I myself hope that this game will turn out excellent.
However, to state as a fact that a game will get high scores and be a good experience before even seeing any gameplay is just silly.
Remember Lair on PS3? Or Too Human on 360? Those games were hyped beyond belief but turned out to be very average experiences.
As nice as the game looks, I'm still even more awed by RARE's Donkey Kong Country games on SNES, and considering how dated that hardware is, that is quite a feat.
Donkey Kong - Tropicar Freeze.
Well, I for one am glad I bought the Wii, although it has stood unused for about a year now. I have about 20 games I think and among them some truly unorgettable experiences such as SMG1, SMG2, Metroid Prime 3 and Kirby's Epic Yarn.
However, for those who were looking for gritty and realistic games, then Wii might have been a disappointment.
With the Wii U Nintendo has made some huge mistakes, such as continuing to use the name Wii that is for sure assoac...
Have people already forgotten about Need for Speed Rivals? That game looks absolutely amazing: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Graphics don't mean anything in Chess. The standard 2D chess set is the clearest means of visualization when playing with computer. This is coming from someone who plays chess.
