you're right there. my girlfriends acer laptop is a dual core machine and only came with 512mb/1gn ram(cant remember which), and vista on it. really slow boot up compared to my q6600 with 4gb, although even when i had only 2gb it was still booted in under a minute.

I got vista and have no issues with it at all. I think a lot (not all though) of people that had issues were trying to run it on low end machines.

I played the open beta and loved it, and that was with the limited stuff available for people to make levels.
I'm not too into the making my own levels, but having what is basically a never ending supply of levels to get online for free is really great. And once people have had time to perfect their own levels there will be some real great, innovative ones out there to play, either at home on your own, or online co-op.
No doubt there will be a madatory patch for any1 that goes online with the original version to take out the track. just for those few that slip thru the net and didn't get sent back on the recall

that as soon as they try to play it with their ps3 online it will prompt them to download a patch that will get rid of the track. If someone is that desperate for the game they surely will want to play online as that is a major part of the game, and if they are just paying a lot to have that track they will be dissapointed.
typical M$, sony is going in the other direction, putting more into inhouse developing and new IP's, trying to move things forward, M$ are just willing to throw cash at anything, which will come back and bite them in the rear, since this originally came out that M$ was paying $50mil, other devs have and probably do try and do the same to M$. offer them something exclusive for big bucks, or threaten to go to sony with it.

GTA4 was overhyped and pretty boring, and almost 6 months ago, people have moved on.
I have the PS3 version so obviously can't get the DLC anyway, but if i had the 360 version i wouldnt bother anyway.

I may be proven wrong but i think PS3 graphics will carry on improving a lot longer than those of the 360.

Agreed, I also think MS will start hurting because they released the 360 when they did in a rush to beat sony some of its tech is a bit last gen, no standard HDD(even the original had this) and DVD9, and the RROD shows they rushed it.

unlike pc games, where to get better graphics, you need newer hardware because the games are effectivly designed in the same way, just doing things faster, meaning you need a faster graphics card to deal with it
they don't have resource hogging os like windows, and dont use ram in the same way.
