and aggree with the comments below, you start with no money, and as its a sim, if you damage the car it costs money to repair it.
seems to me this games got legs, sorry wheels. i must admit, i think after all the hype and such a long wait i was expecting the graphics like i have never seen before, and to be honest i am a little dissapointed, havn't tried 3d yet, don't know if that makes it a lot better.

seems a good idea to me, makes the game more progressive. from what i have heard the damage affects the car mechanicly as well, so you don't want to be able to break your car from the very begginging when your getting used to the game, and physics etc. later on, once you are better you can add a new dimension of difficulty wit having to worry about the car as well as ryig to go fast.
i know for me, if it was rock hard damage to begin with i may have got frustrated and not played a...
i'm going to cry on wensday. i split up with my gf the other week, and had to move out and had to leave my HD tv behind, all i got for the next few weeks is a 30"sd :(
do i get the game wensday and play in sd but not in all it's glory, or wait a few weeks until i get my new flat and another tv but have to put up with seeing everyone else playing it?

i have yet to see anything on this aimed at serious gamers, all casual market.
m$'s problme is that the market they are aiming at has already hit saturation point with the wii, shown by the fact that wii sales are declining.
a lot of casuals that bought a wii, bought one on the hype and gimmick factor, and many sit there not being used often, and not much software being bought for them.

the one that doesn't rrod, force you to use overpriced hdd, has modern storage media (not dvd, and probably not even br by the time it comes out),
grey is good. te only people that complained about the drab colours of r1 were the critics that were in love with halo and wanted it to b more like it.
the people that loved r1 loved it for its atmosphere. the late the 1940's dullness with a bit of alien tech mixed in there.
r2 just killed it, that took too many of the complaints onboard from r1, but al of them complaints came from fanboys that wouldn't have liked the game even if it was a direct port...

competition is a good thing, if it was between just sony and nintendo the ps3 wouldn't have been as powerfull as it is and sony may not have gone the way they have.

I can't think of any reason I would do anything like hacking/chipping mossing my ps3. I have had it from launch and I always game online and wouldn't want to risk not being able to play online. And I think a lot of others would feel the same.

ive had to start over for the 2nd time on career mode. 1st time was easy and was winning too easy, then on normal, and still managed to qualify 3rd in a lotus in the 1st race 1st season. now started again on hard. qualified 11th in a lotus, doing the race later tonight.
love the game and feels great with my df-gt wheel :)
