You know a lot of the games that you just insulted are actually cross platformers, so I don't know why you insulted them all. It is actually a very nice list for both first and third party developers IMHO.
I think they said to buy another HDTV, since it happens for both HD and non-HD users.
If you open it up, it voids the warranty. I don't think anyone's PS3 is actually broken, so no one wants to accidentally do something to it.
I think the retailers just didn't expect Ace Combat 6 to entice new system buyers so didn't have many in stock. Saying a large store in Japan has sold out does not say much at all.
That's like a soldier in battle running out of bullets because he didn't pack enough, and then the enemy takes that to mean the entire army has run out of ammunition so begins to dictate the terms of surrender over the loudspeaker.
Or this could be a case of the chicken and the egg. Did PS3 owners buy less EA games because of poor ports or did poor ports come from the lack of sales? This is the last three month, in which prior to this EA has released nothing but poorly ported sports games that have been on the PS2 for a long, long time.
I know I have been choosing the competition for almost every game. The only EA game I've bought for my PS3 has been Rock Band. I'd like to see how they do after releasing...
I feel bad for anyone who actually cries over an update.
Wow, exactly how I remember those arcades I blew so much money at.
Thank you for making this post, I didn't want to be part of any of the flame posts. The pictures looks about the same, and the biggest difference between them all seem to be the gamma/brightness. I really don't think CoD4 is where you can tell which is better.
With all the times people are spending discussing this, go drive to some store or log onto some website and buy the game, play it, and cherish it forever.
So many awesome trilogies and releases. I didn't catch it in theaters but I'm getting the BD release. This is a good day for all Blu Ray owners.
Doesn't matter for PS3 owners really, since the new 40GB is already a lot more efficient. The only ones that would care are Sony, who can now reduce the cost of each PS3 so they don't have to take as much of a loss. So I hope IBM can finish with the 45nm soon.
Is that peeing on KMart's (it's scary I've been around the ps3 section long enough to remember trolls more than fans) avatar? It's very cool.
Anyways, I haven't found myself using most of their features. I think for developers in-game XMB would be good, but only if it doesn't sacrifice memory usage. In fact, as a gamer, I would rather they make the XMB even more efficient instead so the developers can make better games. Not the greatest update, but it still has some pretty soli...
Yeah, but Sony's development Playstation Edge tool is improving with every game released. Naughty Dog already said that they made sure to make their development process open and is dedicated to helping all other PS3 developers with their projects once Uncharted is completely released. You have to respect a close-knit community of developers that are helping one another like this.
I'd rather wait for the monthly sales review before making my call.
Umm, not that I trust vgchartz that much (but now that NPD is gone, I guess we'll have to), didn't the new hardware charts show that the ratio is only 5:2 now?
I don't expect this until Q1 2009, but I hope their Santa Monica studio proves me wrong.
Hmm, I'm confused. I don't think the two are the same guy, the avatar pics are different (though the same one could just be a copy and paste). And since when did Lightning only have such a low score?
Anyways, too bad for EU, but most people would do well getting the Eye of Judgment anyways since it has the game, cards, and eye for pretty low price.
My bad about the math, I just had to pull an all nighter.
I was just being conservative with my estimates since no one has access to their managerial accounting information. We assume the selling price is $200 (since $100 is a weekend sales kind of thing) and then an aggressive improvement in direct material, labor, and overhead for manufacturing to make it cost $300 total per unit, so it would be at least $9,000,000. Obviously it is much more, but I didn't wanted to back up my...
But you gotta like a man like Jaffe, blunt and to the point about everything.
They sold them for $100-200, and say they were able to produce at $300 (it was $500 when it was introduced a year ago and manufacturing improvements cannot have improved by more than 40%, it just never happens). They just lost at least $9,000,000 without counting advertisement and other financial overheads.
Edit: Forgot to carry an zero over.
That's just sad...
