My thoughts exactly. Microsoft bet on Call of Duty and Battlefield last year while Sony went with Destiny and Watch Dogs. MS went with the safe call while Sony gambled on some new IP.
I read all these articles which say "Sony Says Vita Is Just Another Accessory" and I want to shout THAT'S NOT WHAT HE SAID!!! Learn the definition of "holistic" because you're not getting it.
Sony needed to do something and this is it. It doesn't mean games aren't being made for it. It will get the same, if not more support, and the fact that they put their weight behind getting full versions of Minecraft and Disney Infinity show that they care.
So you're saying that the guy in charge of bringing games to the Vita, and it's most vocal supporter, is not aware of whether this game is in the works? When he announced it he dropped it like he knew it was coming all the time.
Mega bomb! The game is there, it's just not being announced yet.
A-freaking-men. Why is everyone saying that it's now an accessory and not a console? It's like we're playing a game of telephone and nobody can remember what was originally said, or has the time to spend two minutes to look up the original source.
Sheesh.
In the end, who cares? When these guys get it right, they're hailed as heroes and when they get it wrong, they get crucified.
IGN got their Last Guardian story wrong. Hang them out to dry as well. At least Thuway's tweets are preceded by a dozen commercials before a video pops up where someone shouts "What's up everyone?!"
What's awesome is how Sony is supporting this game and not letting it go out to die. Yes, it had problems at launch, but it's nice to see they're fixing it.
Agreed. I loved last year's conference because I was nervous they were going to go down the rabbit hole with Microsoft. The relief that they didn't was great, but when you look back, all they did was maintain the status quo.
As for what they revealed, it wasn't a lot. The Order 1886 was the only big PS4 game revealed (as an exclusive that is). Sure we saw some AC4 remote play and some Destiny, but none of it was all that thrilling. They were just very fortunate to have end...
I think it was something like over 30 games were presented, plus hardware, plus services. Everything from huge AAA to small indie titles. What's not to love?
He says it's the worst E3 conference in years and then scores it a 8/10. Those other years must have been amazing.
Personally, I thought this year was their best in years. I thought Shawn Layden was a better speaker than Tretton. And the sheer number of games revealed was amazing.
Everyone talks about how amazing Sony did last year, but what did they do that was so great? They said, "No DRM" and the place went crazy. Their game lineup last year ...
I was really, really impressed with the Sony press conference. Even the part about Powers, which everyone seems to not like, I thought was pretty good. It's not like there weren't enough games announced as is.
And bring on PlayStation TV. I've been waiting a year for this baby to come to the west.
So now you have Vita Pets, Invizimals, Tearaway, Lego games, and now Disney Infinite. Sony is doing an all out blitz on bringing games for kids to the vita. This is fantastic.
And for some reason I've never really liked either of these guys.
Tretton always seemed to me to be a guy who really wasn't into it and was just putting on an act the whole time. He had no real passion for this industry.
And Spencer just has a look that reminds you of the bully jock from high school.
Can't wait to see what happens today.
Right. In order for them to lose anything they would have to actually announce something bad at E3. Like they would have to say PS+ is now $99 a year and it's required for watching Netflix.
They won't lose anything if they just stay the course and announce their upcoming games.
Awwww, that's so kind of you. Thanks :)
Last gen Xbox had a one year head start plus a much lower price point and finished the generation in third place.
Sony started out slow, but thanks to great exclusives from first party studios and a much stronger position in every market outside the US, they were able to make a huge comeback.
Now, Sony still has the first party studios making exclusives and a stronger position in every market outside the US. Only now they also have a stronger presence in the ...
Shuehei Yoshida has said several times it is still in production and yet when IGN Russia says it's cancelled the internet freaks out.
How many more wild and speculative stories does IGN have to publish before people realize they aren't journalist. Journalists aren't personal friends with the people they cover. They're supposed to be objective.
Remember the article about Druckman forcing Amy out of Naughty Dog and then ND had to publicly state ...
This kind of reminds me of the art style from Little Deviants. Which reminds me... Little Deviants is a thing. I should dig that game out and have another go at it.
Thing is, this game is more about drawing non vita owners to the platform. Its a light and fun game designed for a younger audience that isn't playing a vita yet.
As for the review, yes the game has times when it feels like youre grinding, but that's only annoying if you're trying to rush the game for some reason. Picking it up and playing a little here and there and it feels just right.
The infinite power of the cloud? Losing the kinect gets you 10%. I'm sure the cloud power can get you at least 40%, right? Unless my internet is down... then all graphics go to OG Xbox levels I guess.
The problem with the Vita is that it needs to grow it's user base, and going down the "AAA games in your pocket" won't do it. They provided amazing AAA games and people didn't flock to the thing in masses. They provided unique games like Tearaway and practically nobody bought it. If they put out more AAA games or JRPGs, then they'll provide fan service to current owners, but it's not going to make customers suddenly rush out and buy one.
