Now, were I strongly disagree with you is with your last points.
You say the reason Nintendo is able to create unique and awesome games is because they stick to their own consoles. So you actually say that there is no way possible for third party developers to create unique and awesome games too? There is no way for someone, like say Rockstar or Valve, to be able to create awesome games just because they don't make consoles? There is n...

First let me tell you that I agree with you in the way that we both want Nintendo to succeed, I'm not a Nintendo hater, quite the contrary, it makes me sad to see how the company that once was the leader in video games has become irrelevant, just as Nolan Bushnell predicted a few years ago. But I disagree in your way of thinking.
Regarding Nintendo latest profits, no, I didn't missed the news, but one positive report in a long tren...
I agree with KilKarazy. People who oppose to the idea of Nintendo doing a Sega keep saying that having their own consoles makes the sowftware more profitable since they don't have to pay anything to other console manufactures like Sony, Microsoft or even Valve(Steam). That's true, but also myopic and short sighted. The cost of developing software is a 100% fixed cost, you create the software and once it's done it's done. It's not like selling a physical product that each a...
Stop trying to make Kinect happen, it's not going to happen.
Lord Gaben who art in Valve,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Steamworks come.
Thy will be done
on-line as it is in Valve.
Give us this day our daily game,
and forgive us our cheats,
as we forgive those who cheat against us,
and lead us not into piracy,
but deliver us from micro-transactions.
Amen.
I buy my games on Steam since 5 years ago. Never buy them on release date, always wait for a sale. I have about 140 games now, and the average price I've payed is around $8-$10. I'm never buying physical copies again. For the price of one physical game at $50-$60 I can get a 1TB HDD for my digital games.
The only thing TLOU didn't change is Nintendo's retro mind set. Since this was a "boring" game to Miyamoto and company I think we will never have this level of masterpiece coming from the Mario's house, ever. But it doesn't matter now, Nintendo has become "irrelevant" just as Nolan Bushnell predicted three years ago.
I was a huge Nintendo fan since the NES all the way up to the Wii. And I never thought possible that one day I will stop loving Nintendo, specially Miyamoto-san. But as they say, nothing lasts forever. About 3 or 4 years ago, my love for Nintendo started to fade away, when listening to Satoru Iwata's nonsense, to Reggie's arrogant comments, and today I'm very sad to hear Miyamoto himself becoming a jealous, envious, and arrogant prick. To me this is the last nail in the coffin for...
Stop trying to make CryEngine happen, it's not going to happen.
Also the support for Xbox360 controller is a joke. Yes, it does work now, but you get messages that say "press Joypad 04 to...", "press Joypad 07 to...", WTF R*? If they are going to patch something in the game they better do it right, or don't do it at all.
Reggie should have run for the Senate, he speaks like a politician, 80% BS and 20% crap. I prefer honest answers, like in the interviews with Phil Spencer and Shuhei Yoshida.
I know I'll get a lot of hate for saying this but I can bet all my money and a few limbs that by the fall of 2015 Nintendo will anounce a delay for Zelda U, moving it into mid to end 2016. Same goes for Star Fox. So don't get your hopes to high and be prepared to wait another 6 to 9 additional months... 69 months!!! NO, I said 6 to 9 months!
You nailed it, they are their own worst enemy indeed.
Hahaha! Exactly my thoughts, the article's title made me laugh so hard!
"Slim" PS4 version? You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means. This is a console not a PC. The author of this article has absolutley no idea what he's talking about.
I just played Remember Me last week, a little late I know, but it was a beautiful game. Truly under rated. For those who haven't played it yet, give it a try.
I guess Square Enix saw what Ubisoft did with AC Unity and wanted to take the "parity" BS a step further to the PC, or, they are planing for a future release of the "definitive" version where you will be allowed to play FFXIII in 1080p.
The author of this article is so ignorant he sounds like a religious guy trying to convince us that evolution is a myth. If he truly can not see the difference in frame rate then he either has a sight problem or a brain problem, but I will assume 99.9% of people can and will see the difference. Once you get used to playing games at 60 or more fps, you'll feel very uncomfortable playing at 30fps, you feel eye strain, and maybe even get a headache after an hour or so, but at 60 or above you...
The graphics look 100% photorealistic, is this a new engine from Ubisoft? Also will there be the option to play with female cats?
As a guy who's 2nd hobby besides gaming is photoreal rendering for visual effects with raytracers like mental ray, V-ray, and lately Arnold, I admit I'm impressed by the image quality of Driveclub. I think I'll buy the game just to look at it. I have no idea how is this possible with a game engine and running in real time. Just amazing.
