"what we meant to say with cannibalize sales is that the market is hungry like the wolf for the game (Duran Duran plug-in because I'm very, very cool, look at me, I wear a blazer) after being on GP, so it actually leads to more people playing it (awesome, did not mention sales but engagement, nailed it!)" .- Phil Spencer
I think because of the shortages they will probably extend that by a year and also the console generation in total.
Looks like all that protest did not make a dent on sales, as it was already expected, another proof that the people that took part of it live in a echo chamber of their own creation.
If this developer was so against it, then he could have quit and looked for a new job with a different company, but no, he made years of income out of working on this game only to crap on it once it releases, the worst kind of people.
LOL, after years of nothing they got one great but ultimately budget title with HI-FI rush (which was already in the making for years, their game only because they bought the ENTIRE publisher) and they already think they are a heavyweight contender.
I mean, anybody that thought different were lying to themselves, only the most niche indie games actually saw an improvement on their sales because it gave them some exposure instead of being released to 0 fanfare and hopefully they got a good deal out of selling the release to MS, any other game besides those it surely Is damaging actual sales.
@Asplundh
You can make the case they were cash grabs (specially TLOU part I) but at least they are current gen remakes, Metroid Prime, Nintendo is releasing in 2023 PS3 / early PS4 games for $70
Sony and then MS + other publishers used the jump to a new generation and how games need to be bigger for the increase in price, I guess Nintendo just likes free extra money, because there is really no excuse for them to do this on 15 years old hardware.
LOL, I support your right to say this (and even as somebody that does not consider himself a super fan or anything of Harry Potter I am very excited to play this as well), having said that, this will surely be flagged by other people, because "freedom".
LOL, I did definitely noticed that, the developers wanted to distract us from actually looking at the gameplay.
This does not look good, interesting concept, TLOU meets the Division, just does not look anywhere near as good as when it was announced, which everybody kind of already knew was going to be the case.
LOL, good luck using this new alt-account for long.
Definitely looks like a smaller "budget" experience.
Thank you! Yes, you are correct.
Wasn't this game already out? Or was that another Minecraft spin-off?
@logicwins
100% agree with you, all that's needed it's just the accusation thrown our way to have our livelihood and social standing be over.
"alleged actions" for the time being, or are we guilty until proven innocent?
100%,
Whenever they talk about MS is usually bad news, even when we get announcements they come with an *.
The * is either no release timeframe, multiple delays down the line, troubles with development, cancellations or just games not living up to their announcements.
Today MS fired 10,000 people, let me repeat that, in one swoop 10,000 different individuals lost their jobs because "economics" or whatever excuse they gave, but the same company is trying to pay $69 billion to buy Activision and at the same time it seems they are also spending like $10+ billion to buy ChatGPT.
Kick-ass month, really great selection of games all around.
