I never liked the concept of 'free-to-play' MMOs. Part of the draw of putting myself into a fantasy world is the idea that everyone starts at a level playing field - something we don't get in the real world. It's not fun to think some guy who has more money in real life can cheat (acquire more) just because he can bribe the game to do it for him.
I wouldn't mind giving them another crack at the Socom franchise - implement what they learned last time. It's better than no Socom game and how Socom4 turned out.
The way it reads, it's like the guy posting it wanted to ignore the FFXIII-2 score, I don't understand the hate with this game with some people. It says Alamur got the top score, but that's not true FFXIII-2 one upped it with a near-perfect score.
Sony can still go ahead and show/announce PS4 at E3 if they need to. I don't think what he says changes much besides what the general consensus on the internet is. At best if we're all expecting a huge console debut at E3 and don't get one, we're not going to be happy, so telling us there won't be one makes a lot of sense - are people really going to fault him for saying there wouldn't be one? Not really, all we care about is the announcements.
It's a 5 inch screen. I'm sure it looks amazing even at 75% resolution. Maybe not blown up on a 19 inch pc monitor - (keep in mind chances are your monitor has far more space between pixels) yea you can see the jaggies, but good luck seeing them on the vita.
It's just a strange thing to see when you see people line up to defend advertising. Those aren't news bulletins, those are companies paying MS(not you) to tell you what you should be buying. The point is that screen space could serve much better use, perhaps a real/more effective news bulletin that isn't bought and paid for.
Well the 'good' cut-scenes are probably gone, that's for sure. Probably will be using the engine for all cut-scenes now. Hope it doesn't feel like we're missing them.
Inevitable, its been 7 years still nothing to show. Their games have been highly acclaimed, but still don't sell well enough to justify such a long development cycle. I'm going to miss team ICO, hopefully we'll still get one last game out of them.
I think the sales of the ICO collection decided their fate as a studio. As much as I think the Last Guardian will turn out well, I know it can't possibly live up to the mountain of hype surrounding it.
I knew that theme reminded me of Babel.. Good to know they got the real thing, and not just some guy mimicking it.
When I watched the making of Uncharted 3 after I beat it, I knew there was something 'off' about Naughty Dog being built their own Mo-Cap studio for just one studio, Yea they were successful, but it's quite an investment for just one place. Didn't really put it together in my head until after the announcement. Now it makes sense as to why they would need it. That and the first screenshot had foliage very much like ND would do, I instantly passed it off as them and Santa Moni...
The problem is the game has no video, they're using all game assets to do the cinemas in this game to fit it in 2GB. In general lip syncing is much harder to do with an in-game environment that's not prescripted. Hopefully they can fix the lip syncing, but I wouldn't count on it - especially if the Q1 2012 release date is right.
Yea I remember hearing (in the making of Uncharted 3 after I beat the game) ND talking about how Sony built a mo-cap studio inside their building. Now it makes sense as to why they needed to.
'Reminds self to initiate media black-out on this game' considering lots(but not all) of Uncharted 3 was spoiled in promo material.
Way too amazing - I Am Legend game developed by naughty dog, am I dreaming?
I used to be a huge Socom fan, played Socom 2 religiously for awhile. I think Zipper has really drifted from that game - it's almost like the first two games were an accident, restricted in size from PS2's limitations. Seems like Zipper never wanted to make the Socom game that it was they always wanted bigger, wanted to make a MAG/battlefield type game.
Socom 4 seems lacking in inspiration and I think it shows zipper didn't really want to make another 'Socom...
Well, we know Pachter voted for Portal 2, Gerstman voted for Skryim, they're both on the panel for Spikes VGA awards, I'm thinking skyrim will get it.
8 total maps, subdivided into 30 maps. I just hope there's plenty of variety in the subsections so that they warrant to be labeled and played as their own maps.
Just to note while this article doesn't mention co-op (from how it appears it seems to be missing) the game has been said to include online and split screen-co-op for the campaign.
It's good to see MS has let up on their strict XBLA arcade rules about publishing on the other console first, hopefully it's not the last game to do the transition.
The problem is Bethesda is using the same old engine from ages ago, and only tooled it to run well on the 360 for oblivion. Bethesda failed to retool the engine to work on the PS3 correctly. As it currently stands the save file gets larger and larger and as it eats more ram, the game becomes less playable. The reason the save file resides in the ram is because it was never a problem on 360 with 360's memory architecture and there was no guaranteed hard drive on that console so they had ...
It made sense for Naughty Dog to split into two studios so they could continue Uncharted and start a new IP, but Guerilla it's hard to say. It really is a great idea, use the pedigree of top studios to attract A+ talent to fill the 2nd team up; all the while have them all working together so they can share tech more efficiently. These are Sony's best graphic tech studios, it makes sense them to bloat up to get ready for PS4, having two teams could mean they're moving their engin...
