If I was Sony I'd being doing absolutely everything to get EPIC to make Gears of War Vita. Very much needed to get the Xbox loyal who don't like Sony's first party.
I hate the concept of eating my phone's battery playing a game, play too close to the wire and all of sudden you don't have a phone anymore :/ maybe if they had a 10hr battery I'd bite. The type of gaming I want requires more time and battery than what phones usually have.
I actually really, really don't like mass marketing, let people choose if they want a product on their own. When we're told what will make us happy, it usually ends up not doing what it's supposed to..
My problem with the PSP was I had a PS3 and 360 by 2007, and at that time I didn't want to buy any PS2/360/wii level graphics games. With the rumors of WiiU, 720, and maybe even PS4 being only a half or less of a generation jump, PSVita may stay relevant for a very long time. This thing has close to PS3/360 level graphics on it.
Funny these player review ratings tend to be far more accurate than metacritic and the rest of the 'journalists' we listen to. Good to see every PSVita game will have accurate player ratings.
It seems like they're getting mad because Sony's giving game trailers several exclusives while G4TV is a sinking ship. They also scored U3 low.
The biggest problem with the G4TV review was it was early in, so it basically gave other sites licence to lower their scores and trash the game, when they wouldn't have normally. Reminds me of the early low GT5 scores. It's quite said how most reviewers put their scores in the range of what everyone else scores.
It seems like it's more like anything very WRPG and Shooter (and Mario) is looked up upon than cookie cutter is looked down upon. Twisted metal is at least using it's OWN mold, which you can't say the same for 90% of the games out there.
It seems like 360 owners are starting to get 'paying for xbox live fatigue' If they don't have live, they're not going to pick up CoD; it makes sense.
On the brink of bankruptcy, really? This is another example of the media (none other than Rupert Murdoch's The Wall Street Journal) misleading the masses. You're in here interjecting fear to motivate people against a purchase.
Sony will cease exist this time next year? Are you kidding me? That is still many years off if it happens and the gaming division will be the last to go.
"Forbes: Doing the bidding of powerful special interests forgetting journalistic integrity."
I think people will hate on anything, the problem is that a lot of people feel that these console trashing articles are coming out more frequently for Sony's consoles rather than their competitors. People in the media have a much larger influence on the general population and a much louder voice than the rest of us; they need to be held accountable if they are misleading us from the neutral representation we take them for.
I think there is a lot of hate directed at Sony from the media and N4G really puts that in the spotlight. The reasoning isn’t clear. Is there any actual numbers that show what N4G actually does actually give a significant boost by writing a negative Sony article? I think saying it's just sensationalist journalism is still speculation. To me it seems like the bigger sites and more mainstream sites hate on Sony more, the smaller sites are more likely to go after anyone.
@J...
I almost went with the 3g model with the free 8gb card, but decided for 10 more dollars the wifi+16gb was better long term investment; considering prices may actually be cheaper on PSN than retail this time around.
The thing no one is looking at is the fact EPIC owns the gears IP - not MS. While we don't know the details about their exclusivity contract with Microsoft you can bet it wasn't cheap. So in essence that game may have sold 5million copies, but how much did MS actually make from that 5 mill? Meanwhile, Sony double dipped on profiting from publisher/platform holder royalties on almost all of their exclusive titles. Sales numbers don't equal profit.

Every site is allowed to state their own personal view just as much as any poster has the right to question it. People get attached to game scores because we all know they have a lot of pull inducing success/failure of videogames. These reviews hold a lot of power and when someone holds power, they should hold responsibility too. At face value these are supposed to be objective honest reviews.
It's not big hype games they tend to score lower, it's PlayStation games. While they score more harshly than other sites/mags on all games, their distaste for PlayStation games is significantly worse. I think trying to figure out why Edge does what it does is something we can't really do. We can only prove the bias.

'Who are these people?' is the right question.
The part I don't get the necessity of 'total consoles sold' which is a very inaccurate indicator of a market growing and being beneficial to it's base - especially when you don't know how many of those are inactive/broken. Are the kinect moms and girls really going to buy core games? Probably not. They still count a console sold, but that doesn't mean publishers are going to start investing more in Xbox360 core games because their market really hasn't grown. Also...
I hope this is Sony's secret plan for PS4: Free to play Multiplayer for all first party games, That would be the ultimate online network, so much to play and ALL your friends can play with you.
