There tends to be a sequel rewarding bias that goes on - say when a company makes a good first game, but doesn't achieve the critical/sales status it should have - the Reviewers make up for it in the 2nd game. I feel Infamous 1 was in that boat kind of.
Look at Mass Effect 2 reviews, Portal 2, Uncharted 2 - and the original Bio-shock was a big homage to system shock.
lol with that being said I'm looking forward to Infamous 2, I'm not saying it'...
Rumor is they cut the RAM down and removed internal storage so they can undercut Nintendo at retail. Don't be surprised to see it launch at $250.
I think Sony's in the same boat honestly, they literally can't win with our media. Nintendo might be walking on MS's turf now as well.
You're going to spoil the surprise; or cause an outrage of People mocking a $50 price drop or none at all. Either way speculating low like this doesn't help Sony. It keeps them from having a 'bang' at E3. I would like to speculate 360 going down to $99 this E3 - maybe with a live contract or something lol.
Their financial problems are directly related to the failure of FFXIV. FFXI was such a huge cash cow for them, it let them stay very profitable, now they're going to lose that and FFXIV getting fixed and them even getting a part of that huge flow of income isn't too likely. On top of it the budget for the game is probably well over what they paid to make FFXIII.
Star Ocean, FFXIII with towns scrapped as Well.
Point is they took bribes to help sabotage the PS3 in Japan, Namco did it too; it's sad their market is now split between the handhelds in japan and PS3 in the rest of the world - so they'll never be able to compete with the West without having the same size market to sell to.
Oh well at least I'm glad Amazon has the best one I usually order from them anyway.
The reason the cell didn't catch on with TV manufactures was the amount of heat it creates is difficult to manage when TV's are getting extremely slim. It has nothing to do with cost/performance value. You can bet Sony will be using the Cell again, or at least a tweaked improved version. It was designed to be produced on the cheap from the get go - it only makes sense for Sony to leverage this as it appears they still can for another generation.
It will need to have the Cell processor again or a new better derivative, there's no way anything out in the next5-10 years could fully emulate that thing.
Hell no to 8GB of ram, they don't make Blu ray drives/ hard drives fast enough to fill that quickly enough - keep your 5 minute load times on the PC.
Will this game feature the original score? If they didn't that would ruin the game for me.
Wow that is awesome, and a very good sign.. Though I'm assuming it will be 5%PSP - 40%NGP - 25%Move - 30%PS3
I was a bit concerned how they were going to fit NGP, Move, and PS3 into 2 hours. Looks like now we'll see more multi-plats - the third parties pay big money(exclusive features) to be featured in Sony's show. It also confirms Sony is going full steam ahead with move and not ditching it.
Considering the Rumor was they cut back 2 whole major sections from the final game to fit it on 3 disks, it's very likely we'll see a part 2, maybe not completely new game though.
Who cares about Lara, when you got Drake.
These coming out in america? I've been wanting a new controller if the price of the bundle is right I'll have to get it.
I used to Play Final Fantasy XI a whole ton (3 lvl 75s), I'm still waiting on the PS3 version to get into FFXIV - most of my old friends are going to return once the PS3 version of it hits as well.
x)One thing WoW does very well is accessibility - it is easy for anyone to figure out what to do. When you're thrown into this huge massive world with so much to do and no direction you can easily get lost, overwhelmed and quit. MMORPGs need to hold your hand at the begin...
When I look at the killer homebrew apps I might want - emulators and media players - they're both basically piracy; emulators have few legal roms you'd want to play, there's not a lot of point in playing mkv files other than watching pirated movies. Cheating apps are no good if there's not a solid way to keep them from being used online - or unfairly earning achievement/trophies.
The appeal of piracy is certainly there, but there's a point where you have...
I think a lot of Call of Duties success comes from it's presentation. The game suffers from few load times, you get kill cams and all that and the interface/sound is well polished. You just don't see these areas done as well by other devs out there. 60FPS is underestimated as well by other devs. The single player has nothing to do with Call of Duties success.
I like the huge production values there, I don't like that the character models, animations, graphics, ect.. all look the same as they looked since MW2 and Black Ops.
Android Emulators + GamePad, + on my phone -- that is so WIN..
I think this will be my next phone. I know IGN can't talk about Emulators, so I'd understand their review.
