I guess I can't blame N4G cause they're just reporting the "news"... but whole articles being written about the smallest of issues in a game. First we had an article all about the scrolling text. Then an article about the HUD. Now an article about gem storage. You can't get real news nowadays. Complaining is the news.
We going to have an article every day about something people want in a game? Yesterday it was on screen text, today sliding scales.

That is the "rarely occurs" I was referring to. That happens if the developer implements it incorrectly. This has rarely happened and it usually is patched when it does occur.
If it is incorrectly used, it can. But this rarely occurs. Mostly people cry about it for no reason. Slippery slope arguments like what if they shut their servers down and you can't play your games any more. Okay? Same goes for Steam, Playstation, Xbox, any other digital marketplace.
People like this lose all credibility when they say it would be a "monumental" task to run this on current gen system.

Except that's absolutely not what he said. He said that 2-3 years is "acceptable" to them. That's a huge difference. Obviously they would prefer the games come out sooner, but they understand that Sony is console first.

Sony makes games to sell consoles. You aren't going to see their first party titles be released simultaneously on PC.

Returnal honorable mention reason is dumb. It is a single player game with optional coop. Just like Elden Ring which is in the list.
