Would you mind clarifying how MS is not allowing creative freedom? Not trying to be defensive I'm just not sure what you guys mean.
I'm with yah @GUTZ. What's wrong with Battlefield doing BR? Honestly out of all the big popular shooters, I think Battlefield is the only one that BR mode actually would fit in well. No harm if they have additional game modes. You can always choose not to play it if you would rather play PUBG or Fortnite. Never bad having more options imo.
Speaking completely objectively here but I'd imagine the service type multi-player games with MT, season passes, DLC and service fees are probably bringing in more cash than single player buy once games so its no wonder MS is focusing more on them. That being said, Xbox severely needs more single player experiences. As "unimportant" as the writer claims them to be, people still enjoy them and expect Xbox to have both which they currently do not. I think the real key here is bala...
Hahaha well said @whiteblue.
It's a shame that people rely so heavily on reviews to decide whether a game is good or not. There are so many games that I love that were reviewed poorly. And in this case, since the game is living, coming back 6 months to a year later could be a completely different experience. Think for yourself people!
Agreed. No turn based combat = screwed
Agreed @Heelix. The n4g community eats these headlines up. Sure MS needs to improve in the first party games department but they are constantly adding tons of new features to their platform. Not to mention they still receive all of the third party multiplats. I'm sure they know by now that they need more games which will take time but they'll get there.
Couple RPGs I'd love to see see remakes of:
Threads of Fate
Skies of Arcadia
Legend of Dragoon
Parasite Eve
FFVIII
Plenty more to list but I think those are definitely in my top.
@pramath I am not suggesting that people cannot have differing opinions than myself. What I am suggesting is that the reason why the majority claim BotW is a good game is because of nostalgia (it being a Zelda title). Nintendo games in general are held to their own standard outside of what all other games are judged upon because of the nostalgia surrounding them. And I'm sorry but that is a valid argument when it comes to Zelda. God of War as a franchise hasn't existed nearly as long ...
I'm with @dragon on this one. Square Enix is a terrible company. They never listen to what their fans say. They put tons of effort into pumping out ports or FTP mobile garbage riding on FF nostalgia. And it's taken them more than a decade to get any games people actually want finished (or barely finished considering what FFXV ended up as). How long have they been saying FFVII remake or KH3 is coming? At this point who even cares anymore? I was just starting high school when KH2 came o...
@Neon How the hell have you put 100 hours into the game and still haven't "seen" everything? What is there even left to see? Another dumb korok seed puzzle? Another shrine? The game is one giant checklist! Not to mention the dungeons were a complete joke. And it took me all of 10 minutes to get through Ganon's castle and 1 try to beat him. The most forgettable Zelda experience I've ever had. Maybe @Kosic and I are in the minority, but a good chunk of the majority are Nin...
There really isn't. I mean as much as I loathed the constant progress reset, the raids were worth all of the trouble. I've never experienced anything like a raid in Destiny in any game I've ever played before. There is nothing that can match the fast paced shooting and coordination that the raids invoked. But the issue is and always was that as soon as a new raid came out, all of the older raids were useless unless you were farming for exotics. Even if D2 just kept the entire batt...
I have a friend who is a personification of this comment. He constantly complains about how shitty Destiny is but always buys every expansion and eats up every little update they do. I don't understand for the life of me why anyone keeps going back. With D1 I had locked myself in thanks to the season pass (never again) but I knew so much better with D2. Everyone I knew bought it and was on the hype train and after a month went by none of them had any reason to play. It's entirely Bung...
Couldn't have said this better myself @Atanasrikard. A lot of these living games take time to get the state the devs aspired to. I mean look at Destiny, the game started with practically zero end game content but with all the support it got it became something amazing post Taken King. Why is it such a terrible thing to support games with the same business model @GamesMaster? No one is asking you to support it. No one is shitting all over you for not liking it. It doesn't harm you in a...
Most uninformed comment of the day. You realize that the entire concept of pubg is based on the h1z1 Arma mod right 😒
Thank you @Rachel. I thought I was the only only one who didn't understand the BotW hype. The best thing to me about Zelda are the dungeons and cool weapons/items you unlock to open up new sections of the game which was barely present in BotW. Once you get all the armor it just becomes a big checklist for shrines and korok seeds which accounts for the majority of "exploration" everybody is always going on about. The dungeons were a complete joke (I remember beating one in litera...
@G3ng4r Samus returns is a remake of Metroid 2 which I do not consider a "new" entry to the series. And I was more referring to their console games anyways. Some of their stuff on mobile is good don't get me wrong I'm just not a big mobile gamer.
@McGroin I realize I'm in the minority here with Zelda but the rest of my argument still stands 😁
I'm sorry but Nintendo has no idea what to do with their IPs. It took them years to release a new Star Fox and when they did were so busy trying to sell the Wii U that they completely butchered it. Metroid hasn't had a good entry to the series since the prime days. Kart and Smash get their generational update which they typically don't take any risks on. And BotW was their chance to take Zelda to the next level but instead of taking what people loved about Zelda (epic dungeons, pu...
@blacktiger So if I'm understanding you right, you would rather MS continue to let a studio run with an idea that they think isn't going to net a profit and let that game flop as opposed to cutting their losses and trying to reallocate their funding to a project that they think will profit? Even if the idea seemed good at the start, if the project isn't meeting deadlines or isn't panning out the way they expect, it would make total business sense to stop throwing money at some...
