This is like the second coming of golden axe, only better, sexier, deeper, shinier.
Can't wait!
Wait what? You're saying that Ni No Kuni, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid, Borderlands, Uncharted, Tomb Raider, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Catherine, Little Big Planet, Dragon Age, Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, Star Ocean, Valkyria Chronicles and so many more were not core games but only displays of pretty imagery?
You, sir, need to stop trolling. 8-)
PS4 will probably have the most games I want, next to the 3DS and the Vita.
I'm a JRPG guy, and Xbox never was and never will be the console to go for that.
E3?
I believe they probably increased the basic bubble count so that everyone can have in-depth discussions for E3. Got 5 too now.
Or maybe it's a bug.
Nah, it's instant-red-ring if you unplug it.
Kidding aside, that's a good question. How many users will be allowed to have their full account on the same console? Will it be possible to delete such accounts? If yes, how many times can a Xbox One be rebooted? Do you need to activate your console online or will you be able to create offline accounts (hmmm, probably not, eh?)
I fear my answer, I don't believe they will give more freedom to the used c...
That guy is right. Star Ocean: Till then End of Time is a classic. But I don't recall it being playable on the ps3?
Good thing I still own most of the past's consoles.
And all those older games will probably find their way into each console's online store. I don't see why if I'm able to download Legend of Mana on my ps3 it would be any different on the ps4...
Why does it sound so much like Majora's mask?
I feel like Square gathered ideas from everything and then some for Lightning Returns.
A bit of Zelda there, a bit of Assassin's Creed here, add some Valkyrie Profile for the battles, throw in X-2's dress spheres mechanic... All the while trying to make sense of the convoluted mess of a plot that XIII-2 created, and hope for the best?
This can be two things: A laughable disaster, brin...
That's not necessarily a bad thing. When something's not broken, why fix it?
Plenty of sequels were built on the exact same engine as their predecessors, yet managed to improve the details, and often, the quality is in the details.
Take Person 4. Basically, it's the same game as Persona 3. Yet some improvements here and there made it the superior brother.
Take Disgaea: They've been using the exact same system in every game, ye...
Yeah my thoughts exactly.
About that used game 'problem', here's my opinion:
Being a first gen gamer, I can say that many developers survived in huge parts THANKS to used games.
First Final Fantasy game I ever got, the original Final Fantasy, my dad bought it for 5$ in a pawn shop. Got hooked since then, and been buying most of them Day One, for the full price. Same thing for many games. I buy one used, and if I like it, chances are huge that I'll be interested in that...
As I see it, both consoles are heading in completely different directions. Not much of a fight here.
I believe it's quite a good thing actually. This gen's Xbox and PS were pretty similar in terms of what the console could achieve, with notable differences being on the cost of online gaming and advantages of yearly subscription.
For next gen, Xbox seems to go for a "everything at once" approach while PS seems to aim for the "Games first...
While not directly a SMT game, we got Catherine this gen and if PS2 is something to predict the future on, we'll see Persona 5 at the very end of this gen's cycle.
:)
Hmmm yeah no this list is not accurate, as I can see a lot of missing titles:
Dragon's Crown. (They already confirmed it would be playable at E3, yet it's not on the list)
Murdered: Soul Suspect
Final Fantasy XIII-3
etc...
STILL, plenty of titles on that list would be dreams come true, like The Last Guardian, Persona 5, Little Big Planet 3, Sleeping Dogs 2 and Dragon's Dogma 2...
Straight from the article:
"Nintendo and Sony also have some of these same advantages with their PlayStation and Wii U consoles. However, Nintendo’s Wii U has not seen the sales that Nintendo had hoped for and is lacking the game development that all new gaming consoles need.
Sony is lacking the platform that Microsoft brings with Windows and Sony usually targets more hardcore gamers with the PlayStation consoles. This leaves Microsoft as the most likely...
I'd like a real Lufia sequel, not that action-rpg thing they released on the DS.
And a new Breath of Fire.
And a retro style Mana game too. :)
What I don't like about this kind of story is that the author often fails to balance the issue with examples of good story writing.
Plenty of games deliver solid stories, inspired or not by common tropes.
Take Persona 4 as an example. It is a superbly cliché, teen-thriller story, but then it manages to include many taboo subjects in it's character, like homosexuality, gender confusion, suicidal tendencies and objectification.
I...
They should remake that obscure Game Boy title where you could feed pills to your party and turn into giant robots or monsters or whatever.
I can't remember what subtitle this Final Fantasy game had, but I do remember having a whole lot of fun with it.
Final Fantasy Legend III, if I remember correctly.
They certainly know how to keep my hype up.
This and Xillia on the same day. Good year for me!
