Honestly, the worst that could happen for Atlus is to be sold to a hardware manufacturer.
Atlus is one of the shining examples of multi-platform developer/publisher done right. They've always been able to recognize any system's possibilities and to develop accordingly. To jail them into only one system would be a really sad day for gamers. Everyone deserves a bit of the Atlus genius in their library.

As a way to save Atlus, let's all make sure to buy their most recent outing on the platforms you own.
I'm sure they'd be better off as a stand alone studio and developer. Sure, they'd be smaller, but it's not like they ever wanted to hit the mainstream "square-enix-style". Atlus should really be a stand alone studio in my opinion. They can produce greatness on every platform.
Playstation has SMT:Digital Devil Saga, Nocturne, Persona and Catherine and more. All gems.
Nintendo has SMT:Strange Journey, SMT IV, Etrian Odyssey, Trauma Center, Devil Survivor and more. (Only played Strange Journey and Trauma Center, but I really liked those.)
Xbox has... uh, Catherine. Really good game.

Atlus has always been an all-over-the-place developer and publisher. Some of their games are exclusive to a console or another, but they'd never give full exclusivity to one of the big three.
Hopefully, Atlus reverts back to a stand alone studio. It has always worked for them.

I don't care if lightning is sexy or not in this game. After what they did with the story in 13-2 (which I enjoyed), they could pretty much do whatever with 13-3...
I mean, at this point, you have to take this series with a grain of salt, it's way past the point of being taken as a serious series anymore. (Speaking of the 13 series, not the whole FF series here).
