Wait. 20 hours for each characters, meaning 120 hours? or 20 hours global?
120 hours of goodness sounds too good to be true. But what do you know, I've always been pleasantly surprised by VanillaWare, and this looks like their best work yet.
I may be a pervert, but if anything, the sweaty sexuality in the art only made me more interested in this game than not.
Actually I don't think that makes me a pervert. Just someone that can enjoy sexual stuff without being ashamed or anything. I must thank Vanillaware and Atlus, because they're not shy of producing titles that are not family-friendly and to everyone's tastes. Takes some courage to do that.
Oh. And I can't wait.
I only tried the Atelier series from Gust and I pretty much enjoyed those, and this looks interesting. Hope it makes it to the west!
At least there's Dragon's Crown coming out on august 6.
This one should fix the empty space for a while.
As for JRPGs, those are all on handhelds, but the genre is far from dying. Just take a look at the PSP and DS libraries of great JRPGs. Vita is on a slow start for those, but the 3ds already has Shin Megami, Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey, Mario and Luigi, Rune Factory, etc.
It's no snes days, but it's not dead.
As for me, I think I'll get both versions. With the ability to transfer character datas across systems, this is gonna be a nice way to grind for loot while I'm not anywhere near my TV, and still be able to use those levels and equipments when I wanna play co-op on my ps3. :)
But there are plenty of strong female leads in gaming.
Referring to this article image, Lightning is one. Kat from gravity rush is a nice lead too, and so are every characters from the Persona series. (They even tackle the damsel in distress trope in Persona 4, with Chie and Yukiko, and objectification with the character of Rise.) Also, Aveline from AC3:Liberation is very good lead character, and let's not forget about Shion from Xenosaga. And Katrin in Shadow Hearts : C...
I don't mind if a RPG has no UI. You could switch it all off in Dragon's Dogma and it still played very well, with monsters getting bruises and burns.
But I must admit, hitting the 9999 dmg "cap" (And then breaking it, depending of the game) in a Final Fantasy game is rewarding and taking that away would remove some of the charm.
They should include Disgaea, SoulCalibur III, one of the two Persona, and Front Mission 4.
Weapons change according to what is equipped, and you have a choice of color palette when you create a character. If I remember correctly, each character has something like 5-6 different palettes.
If they are to include additional costumes, I suppose this will come as DLC. Given each frame of a character's animation has been drawn by hand, creating alternate costumes surely takes a good deal of time and work.
There you go, three different elves :)
Xbox one's original policies were not required for things such as instant patch downloads.
My ps3 does it with a ps+ account.
About Amalur: Indeed, killing the final boss in one hit is never a good thing. Especially on your first playthrough.
You know what? That family sharing thing would be pretty much possible even without the required 24h check-in. Microsoft just removed you a feature, but only because they wanted to. Not because the technology wouldn't allow it without being always online.
Also, even if they didn't plan it accordingly, most of the features they removed could have worked pretty well without the 24h handshake and all the DRM policies they were going for.
For Microsoft to remove those features just feels like them trying to put the blame on gamers, again. "Look what you've done, you broke it! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW". And after reading this article, I can say it's working.
Microsoft has no plan.
Screw voice commands, really. Not every one can speak English well enough for an electronic device to understand what's being said. And when I'm playing games, I don't want to be forced to move my arms all over the place. I have quite a tiny living room, and there's really no space for me to stand up between my TV, my table, and my couch. Add to that my dog, a Great Dane, my boyfriend, my cat, and my glass of water, and mandatory Kinect really sounds like a recipe for success ...
Yeah but how are we gonna start our consoles?
Don't tell me... By pressing a button?
I thought pressing buttons was a thing of the past! And... Wait what? GAME DISKS? All those seconds I'm losing by switching game disks because I have an ADD and I can't play a game for more than 5 minutes without boring myself to death. So I won't be able to use my best french accent to speak horrible english while my console is trying to figure out what the h...
Yep. That. You can still go all digital.
Yep, it's all about preferences.
For me, I'm looking forward to Disgaea 5, the next Atelier cycle, the next LittleBigPlanet and the next VanillaWare games. For those, it's Sony.
For other games that people are excited about, it could very well be on Xbox or Wii-U. As long as everybody gets to play the games they like, we should rejoice!
And we should rejoice even more when everybody gets to do that without stupid DRM restrictions...
100$? Dude, you're being shy. It's more like 300$+ of free games. Every month, there is at least one 29.99$+ game for free. 30 x 12 = 360$. And that's the minimum of value you get. It's not counting the free avatars, themes, budget games, Vita/PSP games, exclusive demos etc.
I honestly can say that this is one of the best 50$ I ever invested in my life, and no, Sony's not paying me. (Well yes they are actually, with all those games! ;) )
Yeah that's a Tri-Ace game, and Tri-Ace has a pretty good track record. Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Resonance of Fate...
I'm happy they trademarked a new Star Ocean. They certainly could make more games. :)
