Funniest thing I've read today! hahahahahaha
And I have that game pre-ordered. But this is just... A ridiculous claim.
@plmkoh
Oh of course, I've read that article multiple times and it is superbly constructed.
What I meant to say is that the end result was reminiscent of cult comics like Heavy Metal and co. Also many, if not most, of the stories featured in such comic books were inspired by classical arts. There's a whole lot of stories that took inspiration from norse mythology, ancient greece and such, with the added sex as a recurring theme.
How c...
Careful there. You can't place every gay man in the same group, the same way you can't say all women are part of the radical feminist movement.
I am quite offended by what you just said about gay men. I am gay, the greater majority of my close friends are heterosexual men, and I would never treat them like shit because they are not attracted by me. This is the reality of a great majority of gay men. The more vocal group, the 'pride' group, has it's share o...
Aaaaaaah indeed, on this you are absolutely right.
It does seem unfair that eroticism is widely accepted in many other art forms, yet still really taboo in video games.
I mean, some of the most important movies of all time are pure exploitative trash (Salo comes to mind, Story of O, and many more), yet still regarded as the purest form of their art because, surprise, they shock.
Same for paintings. Many classical p...
Okay, but Dragon's Crown has much more to do with sleaze comics than classical arts. Dragon's Crown takes inspiration from Heavy Metal, Smut, French Kiss and every other comics in that vein.
While it IS art, it is also plain erotic titillation material, and should be regarded as so. As for me, I'm a collector of such material, from 70s sexploitation movies to comics, pin up posters and such (Even got Tom of Finland tattoos).
I believe it is impo...
That's very well said, sir, and indeed a sad truth.
Those are not really good comparisons, this game has more to be compared with the like of Golden Axe, Castle Crashers or Scott Pilgrim... Or the Diablos, Torchlights and other loot-based aRPGs of recent times...
Actually, I've only seen 2 middling reviews of Dragon's Crown so far. Polygon's and one other on Metacritic.
Every other reviewer says this is an achievement for the Beat'em Up/RPG hybrid and that it is worth every single bit of a gamer's attention. Even those that side on the offended part of the spectrum usually admit to how well crafted this game truly is. Of course some of them remove some points to the overall score, but usually it stays well above th...
The author forgot to say that you can also interact with Roland the Barbarian's nipples.
I thought the author wanted to display all the bits that could be offensive. It's a bit lacking.
Also, Orc monsters are half naked brutes, and most of them have sensual poses on the picture of Roland. Quite a homoerotic piece of art.
I like this reviewer.
Wish this game had more half-naked men myself. But I'll be happy with them orcs, Roland and the dwarf.
Seeing how well it sold in Japan and how hyped it is in the Americas, I guess it is safe to see that this might really be Atlus' savior. :)
Capcom. Really?
First you skip on Dragon's Crown, then one of your most treasured series goes PHONE GAME?
What have you smoked. -_-
Or any recent VanillaWare game. Looks a lot like GrimGrimoire too.
:D Good scores all around, I'm happy!
They gave a good review.
But that should not surprise anyone at this point. :)
YEAH
Exactly. Sex sells, I love sex, I love video games, I want dragon's crown for what it is as a whole.
Bub up!
Well that's what I call going through with an idea. :)
Well she can fly. She's got a spell for that. It's probably permanent on her breast. No back pains.
-_____- Oh come on.
This is fiction. This is an escape to reality. Let fictional characters have has much sex appeal as their creators want to. It's not like they were forcing underage girls to perform unwanted acts then upload that shit on youtube. It's fanservice. It's, at worst, something that makes your grandmother blush.
Really, what's up with the world? It's OK to kill millions of people in a video game but BREAST JIGGLE is too much?...
Amazon shipped both my pre-order editions of Tales of Xillia and Dragon's Crown. :)
Now the question: How will I manage to split my gaming time between those two. I know Xillia will be good, but I preordered it out of "Hey, a Tales game, I like Tales game". While my pre-order of Dragon's Crown was more in the vein of "ERRRRRMAGHEEEEEEEEERG CAN'T WAIT THIS IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!".
Well, I guess I got my answer.
