It ain't over till the fat lady sings...oh wait Gabe Newell is singing
I would hazzard a guess the delay is likely down to the many European safety laws they would have to pass before being granted the necessary paperwork to start selling them, its not like they've just designed the hardware as you said.
Its quite clear Bruce is not only desperate for hits for his site but also has some kind of irrational dislike of Sony and feels the need to post these inflammatory stories. In recent weeks the blog entries have become even more venomous and poorly researched to the point where the author now even admits in the blog entry his comments may not actually be factually correct.
I'm not mad, I already had the Orange Box on PC long before the PS3 version came out so I didn't buy it on PS3 but I feel for the gamers who did. If Valve didn't want to support the PS3 format then thats fair enough, there are plenty more PC only developers and thats fine but don't farm out a port of one of your games and take no respinsibility for the end product then wax lyrical about wanting dialogue with gamers, thats just outright BS and marketing fluff.
There are plenty o...
Its ridiculous that people are willing to put up with such low grade consumer electronics.
PC gaming isn't dead its just pining for the fjords
"The more I talk to my customers, the better my decisions will be"
Its comments like those that really annoy, where are Valve when it comes to listening to angry PS3 users and the Orange Box? they sit there with their hands over their ears. The PC format is great for lazy developers to push out games with a 'patch it later' mentality and Steam allows them to do it. Of course developers will tell you the console certification procedure is annoying because it stops them...
@ Superfragilistic
Thanks, bubbles for you too for putting forward your views in a sensible way - I only wish more discussions at N4G could be like that.
Ok thanks for clarifying but to compare equivalent products the official 360 wireless headset still costs $70 online where as a cheap Bluetooth one I found (same model as the one they give away with Warhawk) is $44. I know you can use the wired one but it looks like someone broke an 80's walkman headset in half with that sponge ear piece, it can easily get pulled off or gets tangled as you're gaming and can become detached from the controller. So far as the stranglehold MS have on 360 accesso...
@ Superfragilistic,
You don't have to spend $50 on a mic to get quality sound. It was a good move by Sony to allow use of standard Bluetooth headsets on the PS3. I've owned a 360 and yes you get a free mic but its not very good quality and looks awful. I went on to buy the official 360 wireless headset and was dissapointed by the quality of the comms from it, too quiet and too prone to interference. That set me back £35 with no other choice available.

In-game XMB is just the start, don't forget HOME. Unless MS have a big ace up their sleeve and announce something big for the XBL service then Sony will not have only caught Microsoft they will have overtaken them by some margin with HOME. Great competition between the two companies which benefits gamers on both formats.
I'd be tempted if it were not for the poor driver quality when I last used ATi products back around the 9700/9800 range, since then I've gone back to nVidia.
Gorgon> I was starting to feel the same way about not botherign to upgrade my PC but I do still love to play my racing and flight sims so until consoles can offer me that then I'll still maintain a PC for gaming though my current one is gettign a bit long in the tooth. Games like World of Warcraft, IL-2 and iRacing are helping to encourage me to stick with it though much of my gaming time is now given to the PS3. As a regular LAN party attender it came as a bit of a shock to me that I opte...
I've been a PC gamer for 17 years and never thought I'd be spending so much time on the cosole formats as I have in the last two-three years. My reasons are mainly down to the multiplayer experience, less cheating is a big bonus but the way the unified friends list allows me to add existing friends and new ones just by looking through a list of players I've ecently met is a big selling point. It fosters a greater feeling of community to me as a player and I'd like to see something like that o...
Gerstmann was fired after that poor review of Kane & Lynch but for how long was he happy to pick up a paycheck and tow the company line and review in accordance with their guidlines? Sadly these days you're more likely to get a fair review from a small independant site rather than the likes of Gamespot, IGN etc and its a bit rich for this article to complain about fanboy attitude when they feed them nonsense in the form of platform vs platform comparison's and jukp on every single differe...
Threatening reviewers is not ok but I can understand why people get annoyed with sites who wil lmark games down based on their own personal bias/their employers bias or just because they didn't get enough kick backs from the publisher. Perhaps if there was more journalistic integrity then perhaps gamers would not get so upset of be so sceptical of game review scores.
If TECMO did breach any agreements made then fair enough they deserve to be sued but this really should have been kept a private affair and not splashed all over the internet. To go public just makes Itagaki look foolish, like he's hoping the fans of the games he's worked on will suddenly stop buying them and hurt TECMO's profits even more. He seems to have a hell of an inflated opinion of himself and its unfair that the other members of the team are generally being overlooked for their creat...
Why have a Sony PS3 branded headset? there are plenty of good Bluetooth headsets that work great for less than half the price of the 360 headset where you don't have any choice.
I was always more of a C&C fan, Red Alert was fun but felt a little more unbalanced than C&C was. In multiplayer it always seemed to be a case of who could build the most airfields first. That said as a PS3 owner I'm eager to have some RTS games for that system.
I'm a Steam customer myself, bought numerous titles over the years but this is all about self publicity, first its 'the PC market is not dying' now its 'pc retail market is dying but hey guess what Steam isn't' C'mon this is just more sales fluff, this shouldn't be marked as an interview or article it should be in a banner at the side of the site because its just an advertisment. I actually like the Steam service but instead of constant chest beating why don't Valve and other PC developers ge...
