Yeah. regardless of if Natal can use controller as well or not MS is trying to market it as Hands free game play. Something that would not have buttons.
Anyone who complains about story or characters in FFXIII being lacking is a retard(sorry for being blunt on that).
FFXIII is THE MOST character driven FF game in the series easily. That's why there are no big story revelations for the first 20 or so hours. It's character driven. A perfect example of this is Hope. Hope is a COMPLETELY different character after the game gets under way. He grows and becomes more mature. The same exact thing can be said for just about every character...
wow. NONE of those even look even close to each other.
Fang and Rinoa? Really? Why because they are both wearing Blue? I mean seriously.
Snow and his trench coat looks a bit similar to Seifer but that's it. None of the other characters look anything like past characters.
Say what you will about X-2(First half was horrible but the 2nd half was great) but the game made SE ALOT of money. Like the article said it had a very small team and sold 3 million. That's a cheap game that made a massive profit and game companies are in the business of making a profit.
If the same thing was possible with FFXIII I don't see why they wouldn't try to do it. They have already shown plenty of interest in doing something like FFXIII-2 and said it all depends on sale...
Regardless of if they means that or not it's straight up pompous to say that. Just makes Bioware look that much more stuck up which has been starting to make me lose respect for them.
Bioware has been making basically the same game for the past 10 years same as the J-RPG genre's yet they think they are all high and mighty for some reason. Mass Effect(as much as I like it) Is just a Baldur's Gate game with a different control scheme and Dragon's age IS Baldur's Gate with This gen ...
Well I somewhat agree with what you said I personally don't remember as much of the making fun of Natal being about the lag as much as it was about how glitchy the overall product was when they demoed it.
The Avatar Shoe and BAM there it isn't massive glitch live on stage would be what I am talking about and that's just one example of how glitchy natal seemed to me.
I personally think stuff like Natal and Move are stupid and pointless. Most of the games that use this...
@Seferoth75
It seems you don't know how to read and have no common sense.
I didn't say each Wii controller was over 100 bucks I said it would cost well over a 100 bucks for 3 more + motion plus + nunchuck etc etc.
Yes you are right the PS3 does have very expensive controllers but it also has online play THAT WORKS!!!!! The Wii does have online play but the friend codes thing is retarded and most of teh games are so insanely laggy there is no point.(can't...
No reason for this. The game hardly loads at all on PS3.
When you start the game it loads a bit and then after that there is pretty much no loading everything is nearly instant. So there is really nothing to compare unless the 360 version is way slower(and I assume this is 360 fan boys trying to find SOMETHING that makes the game better on their console despite the fact that the PS3 version is FAR better)
@vhero
Looking at the box as I write this it say...
Funny because they already lost the visual leadership a long long time ago.
And honestly I don't see them getting it back this generation and maybe not even the next generation considering some of the other powerhouses are starting work on a Next gen engine.
It is indeed a incredible soundtrack. Probably my 3rd Favorite.
1)FFVIII
2) FFXII
3)FFXIII
I have the PS3 version and have already completed the game and never once did it freeze. It is either a persons broken PS3 or their disc is messed up.
I am now attempting Titan's Trails(HOLY CRAP WITH THE HARDNESS) and still no freezing.
This is why I really don't like the Wii.
Oh it's the cheapest console. No it's not. You have to buy the console and then like 2-3 other controllers which costs over 100$ and now newer games are starting to use Motion Plus so you need that too. And now they are telling us we need a new sensor bar too? Come on. It costs more then the PS3 at launch to buy everything you need to multiple players(like playing Super Smash Bros with 4 people).
I would much rather just get a...
I always think the exact same thing. When are we gonna get DOA 5.
Personally I don't think this looks all that great. Still has the plastic like look the unreal engine made famous.
There are MUCH better looking games out there both on 360 and PS3. I really don't get the fuss over the Unreal Engine. It's really showing it's age yet alot of people used it and before it was old alot of people still used it despite the fact that it was a buggy mess. I mean there was a reason gears of war online gained the nick name Glitches of War.
Well it looks like they just felt like using that image to me and probably doesn't have any real meaning behind it.
However considering this is for NEXT gen I.E PS4 and Xbox whatever they are gonna call it(the jump from Xbox to 360 was pretty odd) It could be that they are getting ready to have the FFVII Remake be a launch title for next gen. It would surely be one hell of a surprise but given how much they have complained about how hard it would be to do this gen doing it next ...
@mjolliffe
FFXIV isn't stopping them at all. It's a completely different team that makes FFXI and XIV. Which is a good thing because they continue to support the games with massive updates after the release so if we were waiting for that team to get done with their game we would never get the remake.
@Arnon
Sorry but it seems you don't know much about XIV.
Square has said MANY times that XIV is running on the crystal tools engine and it's quite obvious by looking at screen shots of the game that it is. Final Fantasy XIII is the first game to use the crystal tools engine....on the PS3. The 360 couldn't handle the engine and SE needed to make a custom engine to get FFXIII running on 360.
2ndly as I said FFXI does what they want XIV to and it was also t...
The article dooms itself.
"But even when it hits lows, the quality is still there and the fanbase flocks back in its droves"
Final Fantasy has quality and plenty of it. The problem is with certain design decisions the team made. Those are largely(along with the fact that it went multi plat) what people are complaining about.
Just looking at screens and videos of the battle system lets you see the same old Final Fantasy quality is there. So tha...
Seeing as the PC players don't have to do the same thing and that the PS3 beta was supposed to be starting after the PC beta started I think the code is a way to guarantee your spot in the beta.
Alot of people who are interested in XIV are not really interested in XIII so it's really a way to whittle down how many PS3 beta applications SE is gonna have. At least that's how it seems to me.
Whatever the case the beta will eventually be completely open so everyone will ...
Having just finished the game a few hours ago I have to say I disagree with ALOT of what is in this review. The biggest things being that you can connect with the characters and that the game has good voice acting.
The game has horrible voice acting. The only character that does a really good job of acting is Scott Shelby. Everyone else is either sub par or downright horrible(like Ethan Mars)
For that reason it's nearly impossible to identify and grow any connection ...
