Personally I don't trust G4 reviews. They always seem to tear games apart but never really delve to deeply into why they did.
A good example is this is the Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII review. That game was pretty much universally praised as one of the best PSP games of the time. Yet G4 trashed it and after reading the review all I could walk away with is that the review was a jaded fanboy who dislikes Final Fantasy VII and didn't care for the game and thus gave it a...

You know that the only games Team Ninja has ever made were DOA and Ninja Gaiden games right?
Any other game that comes out of Tecmo is not from Team Ninja they are a separate team inside of Tecmo that only worked on DOA and Ninja Gaiden.
Most of Tecmo's games do indeed suck but that has nothing to do with Team Ninja so saying what you did makes no sense.
It's a Open beta. When it starts just go to the official FFXIV website and download it and boom your can play. Simple as that.
Yeah I love GOTY editions of games. It's always nice to get the original game + most of the DLC for cheap then it would have been if you bought it day one.
Lets also not forget that there are places in the country and world in general that play games yet still don't have internet access and for those people the DLC is impossible to obtain if a GOTY edition never comes out.
Yeah I could NOT STAND My hands in XIII
I'm watching the ending of the game and seeing as lightning is looking on whats happening to Cocoon and the song starts with "I woke up in the morning and took a shower" or something along those lines and went WTF THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHATS GOING ON RIGHT NOW!!!
Pretty much kills the mood really.
SE really needs to stop westernizing their games with English music and such. It just sounds terrible.
The vocal song for Final Fantasy XI Distant Worlds was in Japanese and INCREDIBLE even not knowing the lyrics it could bring a tear to your eye when you finally saw the ending cut scene for the Chains of Promathia expansion.
I highly doubt this song will ever have a similar effect. They should just stick with Japanese singers as they normally tend to come ou...
@Incognegro
In my opinion people blew XIII out of proportion. Is a perfect game? No. Is it still a great game? Yes yet no one will admit that. It's pretty much common sense that if the game had not been named Final Fantasy it would have been hailed as a masterpiece.
And still even now people still have the dumbest reasons for not liking the game. They will point out the linearity when Final Fantasy X was just as bad in that regard. They point at story whe...
@Chris399
It's pointless to discuss the time in which you recover from fatigue because the game is in beta. As was mentioned in the article the % and time is being tweaked between the closed beta, Open beta and final release.
Knowing the times in the closed beta is pointless as those numbers will change for the Open beta and more then likely again for the final release.
And really that's all it ever really was. People looking for a reason to hate on SE they did it with XIII now they are doing it with XIV and despite everyone really looking forward to FFvsXIII I bet some people will complain about that too.
Glad to see someone who knows what they are talking about getting the correct info out there.
@Marceles
Just ignore Darkfiber. He has been going around talking crap about the game in every article or news story relating to it saying he is in the beta as if that's supposed to make us believe him when he is spewing out info that has LONG been confirmed to be 100% false.
He is just a troll and nothing else.
@Lekumkee
I don't know if you know how the game works or not but I can tell you that playing only 1 job in XIV even if you get it to the level cap will make you a gimp.
The reason is because unlike FFXI everything you learn for the most part can be used on all jobs. So for example if you level Lancer and learn Jump that ability can be used on most of the other jobs and this goes for job traits as well.(this is what has somewhat replaced the subjob system)...
From what I have been able to find out from various forums and a few people in the beta I know the system is not nearly as bad as every site who reports on it makes it out to be.
From what I can tell the system as it stands in the beta is scaled up because the game is in beta and they are trying to see if in principal the system works. The Beta is not capped at the level the final game will be and because of that the system in the beta needs to work differently. In the final...
This is assuming they even do XV this gen. They said they wanted XIII to kinda of be a franchise and we are still waiting on Versus and Agito and there is nothing that says they won't make another XIII game this gen and just save XV until next gen.
Assuming that did happen Crystal Tools would probably not even be used unless they designed it to scale to the tech being used on the next gen consoles. Which is possible but I don't recall them saying it was made for that...
... wow
You can tell that the final game is going to be EXACTLY the same as the CLOSED BETA!!!??
What drug are you on that lets you see the future like that?
.....
If it ends up on a Home console it will be PS3. I'm pretty sure that when the anime was made Sony helped fund it and earned a % of the rights to the franchise. I'm not 100% sure that is true but I read it from a trusted friend on ANN who looks at all that behind the scenes stuff.
Not to mention if you look at all the times the team behind the game has talked about a VC 3 they have ALWAYS said they would love to bring the series back to PS3 and not just next gen conso...
Personally I'm not really gonna believe much of the crap going around about this system right now.
Chances are it will either be heavily modified or removed completely from the final game.
Those that are in the beta have somewhat felt the the system is scaled up to function more heavily given the fact that the level isn't capped at it's max in said beta and that the final release this system will be almost unnoticeable.
A frien...
I read that title and went. We have few a 3 minute trailer. I would sure as hell hope that was just the tip of the ice berg.
I doubt it.
If games stayed exactly the way they are now then yes perhaps the industry could go all digital in this time frame. But they don't consider one thing. Games are getting BIGGER not smaller so the games being made at that time in the future will be MUCH bigger then what we have now and speeds will still probably not be what they should be world wide and if you don't have a standard world wide speed then you are dooming yourself by making a all digital system...
Persona 5 could still easily be a RPG even if it has a more action based combat system.
For example Devil Summoner has a very action orietned combat system but no one would debate that it has RPG elements in it.
They could just as easily do the same thing for Persona. After all it's not the combat that makes everyone love that series so much. It's the characters, world, story and social aspects that do it.
Yeah was thinking the same thing. No way they would allow someone else to do that.
