I will try to clarify what I mean about my dislike of the engine.

Whenever I pop in a game 9 times out of 10 I can tell it's unreal engine. Be it from the shiny look it has or the terrible collision detection or so on and so forth. As I have mentioned some games have used the Engine very well. Others use it as a short cut to make it look similar to the other bigger games out there like Gears or what not.

I don't like that. Back in the day so many new ...

The Unreal Engine being used for nearly everything is something I also hope to stop.

Back in the PS2 and earlier eras games had such varied and different looks and styles. This gen so many games look samey because so many use the Unreal Engine. Yes there are games that use the engine that look great and different like Borderlands but that is the exception. Most games look bland grey and brown with lots of shinny and it gets annoying when so many games look similar.

It's gonna have a monthly fee. Yoshi-P has said he is open to the idea of making it free to play but that won't happen for the foreseeable future.

As for being good i'm 90% sure it's gonna be a great MMO. The question is if SE can convince those who were burned by the original version. But based on all the game play videos they have been putting out the game looks incredible. It's incredibly polished(even tho it's not done) there looks to be a crap ton...

you hit the nail on the head.

Max Payne 3 is a great game and even has a pretty good story. But it's not really a Max Payne kind of story. I mean there really was no reason for it to be a Max Payne game story wise. I assume they had a story they wanted to tell and instead of making a new IP they threw it into a Max Payne game for the name recognition it would gain.

It's still a solid game but those of us who really loved the first 2 games it just does...

@guitarded77

The PC version was a straight port and didn't even support resolutions beyond what the consoles did. A mod had to be made to allow the game to even take advantage of the extra power the PC version could have used.

I want to see the game get the same attention that something like Borderlands 2 or Sleeping Dogs got. Lots of options and tweaking to get the game as smooth and pretty as can be. The original Dark Souls certainly didn't have th...

I wonder if this will be coming out on PC along with the other versions at launch. And if it does I really hope they give the PC version more love then they did with the original Dark Souls.

@VileAndVicious

Oh yeah I will be playing A Realm Reborn. I have been playing XIV since it's launch. I stuck around mainly because they made it free and I wanted to see how much they would change.(which was ALOT and A Realm Reborn will be alot more)

I fully expect A Realm Reborn to be a truly great MMO. The question here is if SE can get others to realize the same. The terrible launch of XIV damage the image of the game to a massive extent and people are ...

That made my day. I got one hell of a laugh out of that.

I agree to a extent. After playing XI for like 7 years I do admit I kinda wanted a new and fresh FF MMO but the problem was that Wada made them ship XIV out full well knowing the game was at least a year or 2 away from being ready.(He probably thought something like "MMO's have patches we can fix what is broken" which is a terrible way of thinking.

If it had stayed in development until it was done and took the extra year or 2 it needed I think people might have ...

The game for old school gamers was probably Dark Souls 2. Alot of old school gamers love the Demon/dark souls series because of the difficulty and that was probably what he was referring to.

I'm betting whatever it is it's Project Ogre. If Project Ogre is in some way related to MGS I have no idea but it seems like a given.

In a way I kinda hope it doesn't turn out to be MGS related because what was shown looked awesome and could be it's own game easily but knowing Kojima it could just as easily be something from MGS. I really just want concrete info on what the hell it is.

My thoughts exactly. They ruined Devil May Cry and quite frankly at this point I kinda doubt that Capcom could make a Onimusha game anymore. I would rather not see another game in the series then get another mess. Which is what Capcom seems to be excelling at these days.

Seems to be.

The issue here as I see it was they didn't balance the end game content very well. It should have scaled ALOT better then it did. Doing something like Terramorphose solo could be very easy if you got the right gear which took quite alot of time as the drop rate on things like The Confrence call and The Bee were not very good. So the solo player had to simply put in time to be able to take down the biggest baddy in the game. Makes sense.

But when you start adding people i...

I think he is 100% right that the merger was a failure but that isn't to say SE hasn't made some great games since said merger. For example my personal favorite Final Fantasy happened after the merger(Final Fantasy XII) not to mention some of the incredible handheld games SE has put out like The World Ends With You, Dissidia, Crisis Core and the like.

The problem is that as of late they have been trying to hard to appeal to the western market instead of just making t...

Agreed. I can't even count the amount of amazing indie games I have been able to pick up on Steam for less then $12.99 so when you look at it that way it really does look like a massive waste or money.

As a big fan of the series and one that was hoping for there to be DLC costumes I have to say I don't think they are worth it for the price. I think they should have been half that price or maybe even a little less. It can't be that hard for Team Ninja to make them and they could just make alot of them to make more money and get people to buy them.

it did look pretty bad. The first one was decent. It tried to be a good adaptation of the games and changed just a few to many things to be truly great but it got the world and the messed up things right.

This new one however looked like a cheesy action movie with 3D set in the Silent Hill universe. Best way to put it is that it felt like one of those terrible Resident Evil movies. Cheesy over the top action in what is supposed to be a horror series.

Really this old statement again? When are people going to understand that it's 2 COMPLETELY different teams working on XIV and Versus? The speed and development of XIV has nothing to do with the delays of Versus. Nomura is in charge of Versus and he is in some way working on almost every game coming out of SE so it makes sense the game he is directing would be coming very slowly more so when you considering the fact that they were reworking the graphics engine.

As for wh...

I bet they could be used to give out certain pieces of gear instead of the random stuff from the Golden Chest. Or possibly even more bank or inventory slots although someone asked about that on Twitter and Randy said it wasn't as simple as it sounds to just add more. Which would probably explain the lack of more new slots in the Captain Scarlett DLC.
