Their response seems like nothing more then BS PR talk. I mean the bottom line is that Bayonetta sold a few million units between the ps3 and 360 and I can almost guarantee that it will probably not even break a million on teh Wii U. It won't have the install base for years to come to do so on top of the fact that Nintendo isn't the place where most gamers would think to find something like Bayonetta in the first place.

Gotta be honest somewhat disappointed by this. I wasen't really planning on buying the Wii U as I fully expect the console to turn into a giant gimmick fest like the Wii did and that just isn't my thing. But Bayonetta is my favorite action game of all time and I really want to play it.
All I can hope is that the game doesn't make use of the tablet controller thing and is instead designed to be played more with that Pro controller or whatever it's called that ...
I think it would be pretty cool if it came to PC. The mod community would probably have a field day assuming it was easy enough to mod. New outfits crazy stages and perhaps even people adding in entirely new characters. Would be interesting to see for sure but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah i have been wondering why people have been making such a big deal out of this. Some games come out in Japan and cost about 90-100$ when converted to the US dollar. Entertainment as a whole in Japan tends to be more expensive.
If this was to come out in the US I would expect a 149 price tag perhaps even lower.
Yeah there are plenty that do it right. For example Persona, Disgaea 3 and 4, Tales of Vesperia FF series, Valkyria Chronicles, Cathrine and more that i'm to lazy to list.
What people fail to realize is that a good chunk of the J-RPG's with really bad voice acting have a very small budget when it comes to the English version and thus cheap out on it which leads to bad voice acting. The good actors cost more then nobodies who can't act their way out of a paper bag....
I'll say with what we have heard it sounds promising but I really hope it moves away from what XIII-2 did. I really didn't like the direction that game went in as far as story telling. I loved how open it was and that there was alot to do but the story suffered because of it and I hope they learn from that mistake with this new game.
Either way I'm keeping my expectations rather low so if it does end up being really good I will be pleasantly surprised.

My favorite use of Cel shading in gaming is easily Eternal Sonata. That game looks gorgeous even know and when it first came out it was just stunning. Used the look very very well.
Yes it's true that the game is costing a crap load to make however one has to wonder if SE is aware of the negative image they have from alot of people within the gaming community. From a finical and technical standpoint they are expanding the XIII universe so much because of the A) they know how to work with the engine much better and B) A metric crap ton of content was cut from the original XIII and so they are retooling and reworking that content into new games to help their bottom line.
As for the majority not liking Lightning speak for yourself. Most do in fact like her quite a bit they just didn't like the game she ended up being in.

It's sad because from some of the early footage released awhile back the game looked awesome and had a metric crap load of potential. I was looking forward to it quite a bit but it will likely never see the light of day now. And if somehow it does it might be a totally different game then the one that was supposed to come out originally.

It sounds to me like they may have replaced all the songs with arranged versions and not the midi versions the original version had which is good as it sounds alot better. Although I have to admit they lack a certain charm the original version had.

The sad part about the game is that the idea and concept of a animated RPG is very interesting and the screens look good but as soon as you see it in motion it just looks terrible. It looks incredibly awkward as the animations just don't look good and when moving they really don't mesh with the backgrounds.
A part of me kinda thinks that the game being on the Wii U will kill the franchise or it's chances of becoming one as it were.
