Ha, true! Those who want to preorder almost certainly have by now, so things naturally drop off. I expect upon release the story will be different.
Your Feeble Lying Opiniated Post is the only F.L.O.P. here.
I say again, does a game have to 'innovate' to be 'good'?
Besides, I could argue that the immersive gameplay, atmosphere and even the sumptuous visuals ARE innovative for an FPS.
I figured that.
I saw a video comparing preview build with final build (On IGN I think) - Jagged shadows were present in the warehouse section, yet had been smoothed out for the release. As the shadows were jagged in the demo, I reasoned that it was an erlier build.
KZ2 the game will look even better - How cool is that!
Er... good GAMEPLAY makes it brilliant. Immersive, stylish & exciting gameplay that makes me want to keep going back for more, regardless of how 'generic' it may seem to some people.
If we inisted on "innovation" with every single game, we'd be only be getting around three titles a year (if that).
No 'disagree' from me, just a sad shake of the head and jaded *sigh* at such provocative nonesense.
HAZE is 'generic' and crap. KILLZONE 2 is 'generic' and brilliant. should they both be rated the same?
Not sure what your point is.
Well I can't (and wouldn't) speak for the member personally, but to me the name looks like a deliberate pun: "Incog-NEAT-o". Maybe he should have put a (sic) after it to satisfy the more pedantic amongst us....
If story is the first and most important thing you look for in a game then you're probably better off with a book.
Like I said when this cropped up earlier: At least EDGE were predictable.
Do I care? One 'above average' score (that's what it is, people! All the haters are acting as if it's a 4 or 5) amongst multiple 8 - 10 scores? Still sounds like a 'win/win' for KILLZONE 2 as far as I'm concerned.
I said exactly the same thing myself: NO game is perfect so if '10' meant 'perfect', no game would ever get that score. It just means the title stands out amongst it's peers and is highly regarded.
I actually prefer 'simplicity' when it comes to RTS games. The only one I've really played over and over is STAR TREK ARMADA, as it was quick and easy to get into. If HW was like that I'd probably like it (If I had a 360 of course!).
Still a poor title for an article though.
Someone immediately questions their integrity for liking a good game? EVEN MORE SO!!!
"Nomally, you wouldn't pit an FPS against a RTS", but then they go and do it anyway (badly).
I've been playing the KZ2 demo solidly since release, despite me having played so many "generic" shooters these past fifteen years, so I guess being 'generic' isn't a problem if it's superb.
And this conclusion is based on what quantifiable data, exactly?
I could sink to your level and say "Nyah, KILLZONE 2 is a gazillion times better than that GEARS OF WAR garbage" but as a mature adult, I'm way too sophisticated for that.
I will say that GEARS OF WAR does actually look like a good game and I'd like a chance to play it some time. Until then, the sublime KZ2 will have to suffice.
Too bad you're so blinkered by fanrage that y...
Helghan lights are made extra durable because of the harsh environment...
Said lights may be indestructable, but being able to shoot feathers from the chair stuffing, denting petrol cans and shattering formica tables is pretty good compensation I think!
Those 'multiple light sources' certainly do their job.
I have never played a demo of ANY game (on any system) as much as I've played this one. The fact that it's so short yet still warrants my attention makes what it's accomplished even more remarkable. I can take any screenshot at any time and it looks like a piece of artwork or pre-rendered visual. Gorgeous!
Plays damn well too!
I haven't experienced ANY glitches... not a solitary one!
Besides, I've seen videos that show 'jagged' shadows in the warehouse have been smoothed out for the release version - Some of the shadows in the demo were jagged, ergo this can't be what we'll get in the box on 27th.
As a rule, humans THINK, then SPEAK. You've got things the wrong way round matey! The gun 'glitch' is just a random element that makes the game more enjoyable.
I love the 'random' nature of the AI in the game. Lobbing a grenade at the APC's by the floodgates send the disgorging troops in different directions each time. They'll then sometimes flank you, sometimes not. You never know who's creeping up on your position and so you're always on the edge of your seat waiting.
...
Jammy bugger!
Wish the manual was styled like the one in KILLZONE 1 though...
