Can't watch the vids being a Limey, but as I said elsewhere: If we demanded 'innovation' in EVERY game, there'd only be around three new titles a year.
If a game does what it set out to do WELL, then it's as deserving of praise as a game that offers something new in my view.
I'm a 'die hard PS3' fan, have been playing FPS games since their inception (floppy disc WOLFENSTEIN!) and loved the KZ2 controls, settling in instantly and enjoying a terrific experience. You always automatically believe the negative reports anyway, so what's your point?
It's downright foolish to cancel a preorder based on the alleged demo 'lag' - If it's a problem in the final game (and word is it ISN'T!) then it'll be fixed. If it isn't a problem with the final game, they'll be m...
I haven't experienced any. I press R1 and the gun fires right away.
The right stick has a larger than normal 'deadzone', meaning you have to push it further to get a reaction - At first I thought people were misinterpreting this as 'lag', but then they started to say it was on the buttons too (but not the left stick, oddly).
Three choices here:
1 - The lag is in EVERY demo but some people adjust quickly and don't notice.
2 - The lag isn't in ANY demo and t...
.... Ah who cares what I was going to say....
I've been playing on consoles for longer than I care to admit. Started with a home version of PONG, then worked my way through the Atari VCS, SNES, Mega Drive, Playstation, Saturn, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, PS2 and XBOX. I even had a Mega CD (remember NIGHT TRAP??) and must confess to owning an Atari Jaguar and Phillips CD-i.
And you know what? I've experienced "fanboy-ism" from owners of just about all them (except those last three of course!). From Mega Drive owne...
People can say what they want about the game (as long as it's presented politely and not as flaming), but I just want this trend of lumping all PS3 owners into the one "sad Sony fanboy" category that's suddenly reared up to STOP!
These days I'm actually afraid to admit to owning a PS3 and looking forward to KILLZONE 2 for fear of being leapt upon by the "LOLZ SDF" brigade.
Do people honestly feel that the PS3 has a monopoly on fanboys? If so then al...
I actually needed a little 'positivity' (is that a word?) after the kicking KZ2, Sony and it's (normal) fans have been getting in some of the more beligerent articles (and corresponding forums) seen here today.
To those in that other article who said 'PS3 Fanboys' were the 'worst', I give you CHRISY!!!! A tool is a tool, no matter what console they choose to support.
I don't think HALO WARS had quite the same level of expectation attached to it, nor the same level of "will it be any good" media scrutiny.
I'm sure you do think that way.
But you don't know how much I bite my metaphorical tongue every day in the wake of comments from rabid fans of Microsoft sniping, harping and bleating about how "blind" and "gullible" I am, or how the entertainment hardware I choose to buy (a decision that affects nobody on the face of this planet but ME) is flawed & misguided.
Fanboys are IDIOTS, but that applies to both camps. Don't go painting one 'faction' as ...
Yes, people who overeact to a single review score are rather absurd aren't they?
Pity you have to be so childish yourself in order to get the point across though. "Black kettles" and "pots" spring to mind...
If the concept of good games on ALL systems terrifies you into making such infantile statements then I feel sorry for you.
Seriously, your life must be so feeble and worthless to spend SO MUCH of your time rubbishing something you do not and never will own.
I mean LOOK AT YOU! Taking time out of your life to continually bleat the same banal rubbish over, and over, and over... It's like apes throwing their own excrement in a zoo.
Do you honestly believe th...
Only because your mindset is predisposed to that opinion - You've repeated your own brainwashing mantra for so long that you believe it.
You're only kidding yourself you know, chum!
I only really play two of my old PS2 games on my PS3 now: HALF-LIFE and KILLZONE.
And Still a very good experience they are too, especially the latter! Great diversity in locations (urban warfare, swamps, slums, snowy wastelands, jungle, space station), lovely visuals, superb weapons (I'm sooo going to miss the shotgun on the Helghast assault rifle in KZ2!) and GOOD voice acting.
Even with the glitches, I still don't really get the hate thrown at this game.
I thought THE DARKNESS had a nice atmosphere, but I rarely found myself using any of the powers other than the 'vortex' thingy. Having to ride trains all over town and retrace my steps got a bit tedious too.
I really liked R2, but it just didn't feel like a sequel to the (far superior, in my opinion) original. Co-op is addictive though!
360? *Chortle* He's either very stupid or thinks everyone else is.
New Ebay member account just to sell the game too, so when he gets booted off he'll have his original as 'back up'.
Guess your fanboy blindfold made you miss those many '9' scores it got then?
Still a great score, still a great game - You can't change that now no matter how much you wish you could.
Sarcasm is one thing, but so many people talk like that here for REAL that it's difficult to notice the difference.
If it was indeed the case then I withdraw the reply - If not, I don't. Like I said, how can a person tell?
I certainly didn't notice any lag - Been playing KZ1 for years so maybe that's made me 'immune'. I hit 'fire' and the gun fires as near to instantaneously as I'd expect. Some people are mentioning .5 to 1 second delays???? I think that may be a wee exageration. One second is a lot longer than people think in gaming terms.
I will concede that the stick deadzone is larger than seen in other games but again, KZ 1 exhibited this and I adapted to it very quickly.
Going by that yardstick, Halo 2 should have been better than Halo 1 while Halo 3 should have been better than both of them.
Was it?
