Hardware support for DX12 has existed since 2009 :)

Any DX11 capable GPU is DX12 capable to an extent. Some features are only for supported hardware (GTX 9xx and AMD R9 3xx series), but the biggie (better CPU utilization) is available to all.

Yeah, they tend to overestimate. But then again, there's a trend to i7s having either a significant or a slight advantage in gaming with higher tier GPUs. I had no idea until I got a GTX970.

For instance, in Battlefield 4 my GPU usage can drop to 60% because my i5 is bottlenecking it.

What he probably meant to say was that there's more potential to be unlocked in PCs than there is in the Xbox. He is right. DX11 is the greatest existing bottleneck and will be until DX12 becomes standard.

So the FX8350 can finally overtake/outperform the i5. It should have been able to do so from the start. As things stand now, it can't even be on par with an i5 in DX11.

Glad I've got an i7 coming :)

@starchild - go watch the E3 reveal footage/final version comparison of Far Cry 3 on Youtube and tell me the game wasn't downgraded.

I agree, their games are some of the best looking, but the problem is they were even more beautiful in earlier stages of development.

The fact that they decided to be completely upfront with their future reveals (such as Ghost Recon Wildlands, which looks amazing, although the character animations look slightly wonky) and ...

@dreamoner

AC Unity had some pretty bad textures, horrible draw distance due to API limitations, popup etc. Far Cry 4 has prettier textures, ambiance, effects. Both use physical based rendering, which is amazing which means those two are the best looking games to date honestly. Far Cry 4 is just a little bit more rounded in my opinion. Graphics are subjective, for I find L4D2 more aesthetically and stylistically pleasing than Crysis 3, so you may not agree.

Horrible stutters and freezes because of a huge memory leak. Uncap the framerate and you experience such furious fps drops that I believe the leaked Hitman Alpha actually runs better. Sometimes it's a solid 60fps, you turn the camera 2in to the right and BAM, 30fps or less, turn it 2cm more, BAM solid 60 again.. It's that bad. Shame, the game is amazing.

Splinter Cell Conviction = runs like crap

Assassin's Creed 4 = crap CPU optimization

Assassin's Creed 3 = crap CPU optimization

Far Cry 3 = crap CPU optimization, took 5 patches to fix all crashes and performance issues + mouse acceleration

Far Cry 4 = crap CPU optimization, took 6 patches to improve CPU performance but not fix stutter and mouse acceleration, post patch 6 CPU optimization even worse than before, but f...

Wow, PC too? Maybe this can hold me off until Mad Max and MGS :)

Oh wait, it's an Ubisoft title.. Probably won't be in a playable state until mid 2016..

It was the performance and poor audio quality that ruined it for me as well. I'm talking about the PC version, I might add.

Never got around to finishing it. Got boring really fast.

Tried it, it's true, i5 3570k @ 4GHz and GTX 970, 25-40fps with 50% GPU usage. But people, this is an Alpha. That means it's not even close to being finished. Considering how well Absolution ran, I've no worries at all.

This could actually end up well for PS4 users. Games that are "delayed" for such a long period usually come out with improvements, possibly even something like what Tomb Raider Ultimate is to Tomb Raider.

Ground Zeroes is a Gameworks title, runs amazing. As is GTA5, The Witcher 3, Metro Redux and the original Metro games and they all work perfectly fine.

Just because some devs don't give a crap about proper PC development doesn't mean Gameworks is at fault. Most Gameworks titles come from Ubisoft, who as you know don't give a flying f about PC optimization and WB Games handled Batman AK PC so poorly it's going down in history books.

Nothing before I part ways with my money I presume? I think the last demo they provided was for Mass Effect 3 or maybe Kingdoms of Amalur. Twas a long time ago..

I want a demo. I want to be able to go on Origin and download a freaking 15-20 minute demo so I can actually see how this plays. Need for Speed always looks good to me, and I always end up disappointed when I actually get it.

Metal Gear was always cheesy as hell. I mean, seriously, the entire series is so cheesy it's difficult to say which MGS iteration is cheesier than the other.

Gears of War Ultimate, Fable Anniversary, Black Mesa etc.

It's all semantics, really. These could all be considered remakes, and remakes are just remasters on a higher level than just a higher framerate and texture resolution bump.

But I agree, we need remasters that are more akin to what The Coalition are doing with Gears of War. 1080p60fps is just not enough of an effort. Give us remade models, sounds, textures, cinematics.

Or maybe it would be nice if a friend could pop over for a splitscreen session of Star Wars on your PC since, you know, it actually has the power to run splitscreen fluidly and you can connect controllers and a big tv to it without an issue.

Seriously, the only problem a PC can have regarding splitscreen is if it's owner has no friends to play with. Even I am not that introverted.

Considering how Watch Dogs, AC Unity and I'd even say Far Cry 4 (because of it's horrible, horrible mouse acceleration and absolutely abysmal CPU utilization) performed, I don't have a lot of love for Ubisoft right now.

Sure, their games have potential, but the fact that to date every Ubisoft game follows roughly the same formula and coupled with the fact they run so awfully really makes most of their efforts look half-assed.
