Just goes to show that the world is bigger than video games.

It should be free, but if it is $10 I guess that isn't too bad. After all, you can find the game used for around $30. If you paid full price for it then that does suck.

Go check the PS2's failure rate. And read up on the lawsuits around it. Then go read up on the Playstation's failure rate and the lowest possible quality disc drives that they put in them.

It took Sony 3 generations to get it right. And I'm glad that they finally did.

If quality were measured by your standard, then who in their right mind would have purchased a PS2 after the number of PS1's that broke? Who in their right mind would have purchased a PS3 after the number of PS2's that broke? Just 4 months after I paid $300 for a PS2 I had to buy another one so my investment in my game library wouldn't be wasted because of the stupid DRE's. But here I am, the owner of a PS3.

The truth of the matter is that for most 360 owners this is just a min...

Hope you stop playing games in your 30's? Why would you want to do that. Your 30's are when you'll be able to buy what you want when you want. That's the best age to be a gamer, IMO.

I think that there is still a ton of room in the market for the new consoles. There are people that have different psychological price points, so when the prices drop to those levels you'll see more consoles moving. $350 is still a lot of cash to pay just to play games.

Once the Premium 360 moves below $300 I think you'll see the adoption rate go up. Same for the PS3.

I'm glad to see a new IP rack up some decent sales, and a single-player game doing it just means that there's still a market for the solo mission.

I think that developers have been cheaping out on single player far too often. I don't always want to have to hunt down other people to play with to make a game fun.

Usually the only Blu-ray movies that are cheaper are the ones within the first week of launch. The same for HD-DVD. Then the prices between the two formats usually even out.

From what I see the prices are nearly always the same.

Why does someone always have to try to turn it into a console flamewar? Why?

I sure wish that my free Blu-ray movies would get here already. It's been two months!

I seriously doubt that consoles manufactured on 8/15/2007 have even made it all the way to the US from China. They ship these things by cargo ship and they have to go through customs. Not to mention the time it takes to ship from the repair facility to your home.

Maybe the guy really meant 8/15/2006?

They cross the ocean on cargo ships and the inventory has to go through customs. I don't think that two weeks is enough time to get from the manufacturing plant to a warehouse. Not to mention the week or so it takes to ship the thing.

While I don't doubt that 360's break, I do doubt this story.

Gotta buy new drives for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, too. And last I checked those aren't that cheap either.

Isn't it amazing that the Wii has finally become a "next gen" system now that it has sold more than the 360?

6855d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The Blu-Ray disc association would license Blu-Ray technology to Microsoft in a heartbeat. That is so much bigger than just video games.

If you go to the store today and compare 360 software with PS3 software, the 360 leaves the PS3 in the dust. All people can talk about is what's coming. I am simply whelmed. I have a single game for my PS3 and I am just jonesing for Heavenly Sword so I can have two.

Maybe because it isn't a gimmick after all. It has the support of developers and consumers, and people all over the world actually do like it.

6855d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

But it isn't "next gen" anymore. PS3, 360 and Wii are now "current gen".

Breaking more than once is one reason why so many PS2's were sold. Launch PS2's were so prone to breaking. I should know, my first one died 4 months after I bought it.

There was Dead Rising by this time last year.
