I wonder how costly tech like Blu-Ray will do this holiday season. The whole world is tightening their belts due to the global economic slowdown, so it's possible that luxury items like home theaters will struggle for sales.
Might as well get the shots in while you can, since NTSC is dead in the US as of February, 2009. Goodbye NTCS, hello ATSC.
So what you must be saying is that since the majority of the PS3's titles aren't 1080p that the PS3 isn't really HD either, right? Because the lion's share of PS3 games are not 1080p, and the ones that are really aren't all that impressive.

Since your standard is that only 1080p is HD you must be awfully disappointed playing all of those SD games. Unless you...
Gamestop never honors reservations made at other stores. Every time I've reserved something they've told me that. It just sounds to me like this is being twisted to make it sound like Gamestop was trying to screw the guy over. But that's not what happened.
It doesn't look to me like he was trying to prove Gamestop wrong, rather he was just trying to find a way to play the game.
America, huh? Over 50 countries use NTSC, including Canada and Japan. But if it makes you feel better to take a shot at America then I guess that's ok. Freedom of speech, right?
So are these legally downloaded videos? Or are they illegal? If they are legal movies, then this sucks. If they are illegal, then that's too bad.
I wouldn't be surprised if it were some sort of DRM introduced with the update.
Maybe the network updates earlier in the week accidentally dropped it from the store.
So what is it that people disagree with? That I haven't finished the game or that I won't be getting the DLC? I'm confused.
This article title is like saying that artichokes outsold alternators in September.
I don't think you're messing anything up. It's just that BADJoystick is a sister site to this one, so if it has already shown up there then I'm not sure that there's much reason for it to also show up here. But if the community goes for it then I'm ok with it. I'd just hate to see BADJoystick turn into something that gets farmed for submissions here, because a lot of what shows up over there is pretty lowbrow.
Not at all. If nothing this generation has been different than the one before.
Can't we just leave BADJoystick videos on BADJoystick? Do they really need to come over here? Otherwise sooner or later people are going to be submitting every new BADJoystick video and there will be no need for the site.
They're adding games to the bundles so that they can add value without having to lower the price. That's the same thing that Sega tried to do when the original PlayStation came in $100 less than the Saturn. Sega knew they couldn't afford to drop the price, so they started bundling games.
What's interesting about it is that Sega had much more brand recognition in the video game market because Sony was a relative newcomer. They also had the massive list of arcade properties that So...
Kotaku's a blog. I doubt that they really care that people here hate them. Hate drives as many page hits as love when it comes to the Internet.
I predict that 95% of the comments on this story will be people moaning about Kotaku and 5% actually discussing the issue. If people hate Kotaku so much then why waste the energy to post comments?
Related to the story, I doubt if either Sony or Media Molecule consciously meant to offend anyone. But followers of Islam live in all parts of the world, so in an effort to be responsible Sony recalled the game worldwide. I'm no fan of political correctness, but that's the world we live...
Mozilla is open source. Download the code and port away:

Too bad Sony doesn't allow community development for the PS3 platform. I'm sure someone would have done it by now.
Mozilla is not actually a company. It's more of a self-organized community made up of people from many different organizations. It's interesting how with no formal reporting structure the Mozilla project continues to progress and evolve.
Now stack that list up against the number of PC's out there in the world. There are 4 in my house alone. There are probably tens of million to hundreds of million people playing games on PC's worldwide, so the overall attach rate for these games is very low.
It would have been better had LucasArts said that they weren't releasing it because they're tired of dirty pirates stealing their stuff. I'm surprised anyone releases games for the PC any more.
Because that's what happens here. You state your personal experiences and then the team of internet stalkers assigned to you by the IFA (Internet Fanboy Association) promptly disagrees with you. Because apparently they were there with you and saw things differently.
Apparently at least one has been assigned to you already.
