I'm sure that Microsoft offered them up as a promotion. Ellen surely didn't buy them.
I don't see the problem. Everyone should be happy getting something for free. Give it away as a gift or sell it on eBay. Don't see how anyone could be a loser here.
30,000 units isn't that bad. Besides, Grand Theft Auto is pretty popular in Japan. San Andreas sold over 400,000 units, which is outstanding for a Western game.
Does everything have to be a Microsoft conspiracy?
That's not bad for Grand Theft Auto. I remember that for a while GTA III was one of the PS2's top selling games in Japan.
Japan stopped being the gaming superpower when Western developers starting making games. That shift started last generation, and now more games are coming out of Europe and North American than Japan.
Too bad it isn't the hardware that they want to be moving. It's pretty rough when the 360 outsells the PS2. The PS2 has been kicking the snot out of both the 360 and the PS3 since they launched.
It's easy to become a contributor in record time when you've taken the test so many times.
Why would you say that Kotaku had no choice? What would have happened otherwise? People from N4G would start moaning about them and refuse to click through to their site?
I don't understand why people think reviews need to live up to hype. Games need to live up to they hype, and if they don't then they deserve bad reviews. LBP is a great game and Kotaku acknowledged it as such.
People here take their PS3 seriously and they can't stand for someone to say something they think is negative, even if it's true. Kind of if you don't show the PS3 unconditional love then you hate it.
Some folks just can't accept that you don't have to pick a side in the "console war" and they have an "either you're for me or against me" attitude. Then they go put their heads back in the sand after they rant.
If not getting the gift that you want is going to make you crap in box and give that as a return gift then you're just ungrateful and don't deserve anything.
How is it misleading if they say you need a hard drive? Did they show a 360 with a hard drive attached and the 129.99 GBP price? Because that would most certainly be misleading.
I didn't even know it was time for it to be out yet.
I don't care who outsells who as long as the supply of good games keeps up. My PS3 has been getting some long-needed attention lately. I'm hoping that 2009 is going to bring more games to my 360. I'm not a fan of games like Fable and Gears of War.
I think that was a joke.
Stuff happens.
The PS3 browser is not better than IE, in my opinion. The interface is way too clunky for me. Plus it has problems with web scripting languages.
The only EA game I've bought recently is Burnout Paradise for PS3. Go free online play! Mirror's Edge will likely be my next EA game.
I've been waiting years for some awesome games for my PSP. There have been some good ones along the way, but there have been only a couple of killer apps.
I'm glad to see the platform finally get the attention that it really deserves.
If someone can't show you high numbers then it must be low? Show me the official number of Xbox 360 systems that suffered RROD. While I agree that it is way too high, there's nothing out there but educated guesses about the actual number. So please, use some common sense.
And common sense would tell you that DRE rates within acceptable limits (remember, the PS2 only had a 90 day warranty when it was released) wouldn't be cause for Sony losing a lawsuit about it. Their agreement t...
The beta was pretty good. I'm not a big shooter fan, and some of the people I was playing with were pretty annoyed that I didn't take a more "hardcore" approach to the matches I played. Whatever. Shooter fans are going to like it. I think it deserves good reviews.
