I dont know why people are acting so surprised. When Microsoft recently laid off workers from their gaming division, so many people here were acting like Sony is immune to layoffs. I said this is gonna be happening to them as well. For years now I've been saying gaming can't sustain itself without laying off people. So the next time a SP game sells 4 million copies just remember a sequel will have to sell 10 to 15 million because of the rising cost of making a game.

Sony said similar things when their Walkman was beaten by Apple and when Samsung surpassed them in the TV market. I can go on and on but I'm sure you get the picture. Business is business. All companies take a whippen every now and and then. The difference is how you bounce back. Microsoft net worth has grown over the years. Business wise they are very successful and no matter what, sony would love to be where they are financially. Sony isn't the competition microsoft worries about....

Sounds like you are in your feelings. Get used to it because this is where the industry is headed for Microsoft as well as sony. This is only the beginning. In the near future you won't need a ps to play sony games or a xbox for Microsoft games. It's a good thing imo because hardware sales don't make up for all the money lost on them.

That's false. He didn't say that. I've noticed that you like to input your own version of a made up fact. Sony has already brought games to PC so it makes no sense for them to announce it. They will be putting more games than MLB The Show on xbox in the future. They'll be doing similar things that Microsoft are doing. The only difference is that Microsoft is telling us now. Sony is doing to slowly spill it...lol

"Why compare this game to a 6 month old RPG like Starfield and not an action game like COD?"

It's probably because it's a bunch of BS. They don't provide any proof to back it up. It's obviously pro sony people writing this stuff. It sad and not based on fact.

If we go by your logic sony should of left the TV business years ago because Samsung is destroying them.

Gamers say the craziest stuff. Why would Microsoft or any console maker discuss new hardware right now. Sometimes I think people here forget that Phil Spencer is in charge of xbox, and not Microsoft.

Lol... Man you console fanboys are just ignorant. Phil Spencer is not in charge of Microsoft. These companies are always going to do what they want. That's the way its always been.

Excellent news for Microsoft and Xbox fans everywhere.

Sony's The Last Guardian was delayed an entire generation.

This is good news. Always good not to have to lay off so many people.

That doesn't make sense.

It's their product so they can do what they want. If you don't like what's being offered don't buy it. It that simple.

Looks awesome. Can't wait to play it. I'm confident this will be a good one. Machine games are great developers.

Yes pc too. Windows is a platform as well.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what we think. Sony's goal is to make more money whether its single player or GAAS. And thats what they're gonna do. They're gonna support both. The fact is that a game can sell well and still not bring in the profits that are needed. Development cost is just one expense to recover. Stuff like advertising and other things are eating away some of the profits. That successful game that cost 100 million to make may cost almost double ...

It's not that bad. I heard that Ratchet and Clank was Ratchet and Stank before the name change.

I love my gaming PC but if anyone believes PC gaming is beating consoles in revenue is naive. Pay attention to key words this article. Not everyone with a smart phone play games on it but yet it's counted as such. It a dumb comparison imo.

Lol....that's not true. If it were, no platform but xbox would have Activision games. Even if they wanted to do that it wouldn't be breaking any laws because they own the IPs. Sony has bought studious and IPs as well. You can't stop anyone from buying the games they want. You may have to buy another console to play a certain game. Microsoft nor Sony can't stop anyone from playing a game. If you choose not to buy a certain console that's on you. If you want to play Halo ...

It's not debatable. It's a success. The pirate thing isnt the type of game for me but I know a lot of xbox gamers like it. I think bringing it to playstation is a good thing. Sony lacks good multi-player first party games and I think this will help fill in the gap a bit.
