I've never played FF before, but I am planning on getting this game.
Its the same for me with MGS4, that I'm getting introduced to these great titles, so there are new customers out there who already have a PS3 and will get this game...this is on top of the people who are waiting for this game before getting a PS3.
I don't agree with the idea that they would delay until the user base is larger. They don't make any money on the game till it is out there and people can buy...
I don't think theres that many people buying it just for the BlueRay player, although I know there will be a few.
But if you have a PS3 sitting in your house, chances are your going to get a game for it.
Europe already pay more for their PS3 than what the US does, and yet it still sells more.
I think its more down to the marketing to try and push the PS3 brand name out there, but mostly its just waiting for the big titles.
Not only that, but if the Blueray drive is not rolled out as standard then game devs can't use the extra space to make their games as not all PS3 would have been able to play them.
No, Sony were right to make it standard...for the sake of the games. I understood that before I got my PS3 and I wasn't interested in BlueRay movies at the time.
Films in HD are just the icing on the cake.
Imagine how much more the 360 could have done if it had BlueRay or HD-DVD as a standard drive.
The extra disk space will give game programmers so much more freedom, more textures, more sounds, bigger maps.
Games like Bioshock were great, but if they had the extra disk space imagine how much more the experience might have been.
Mass Effect, another great game which is massive game area...but if it had the disk space, maybe the textures in the environment might have had so...
Punching someone up isn't easy when the other person has a gun...but it helps if you run out of ammo.
Only really needed to do that once during the whole game, so melee isn't vital, but a welcome addition.
All it means is you have more options to do stuff and that gives the game more depth.
"How in their right mind would want a purple PS3"?
That would be the Pimp daddy PS3, comes with bling gold trim and a copy of GTA4.
We've seen today that sales of software in Europe for PS3 software is on par with 360 and is catching up in total sales....Japan is a given. So now they just need to get the sales up in the US which will happen with the sofeware coming out this year.
The only problem the PS3 has now is the marketing...and now that they have freed up the resources from the PS2, they can start pushing the PS3 forward.
As it is the PS3 is around the same amount of sales the 360 was a year ago, so to call it a disaster will imply that the 360 was a disaster at that time....which it wasn't. it was about this time that gears came out on 360, and so we see the same thing happening with the PS3 with its up and coming titles.
PS3 has been playing cat...
I understand what your getting at....but machines break down over time. So as long as there is an option to use your original game cd it should be fine. thats the only point I was trying to make.
One thing I'm concerned about (not for my self as I have a 60GB model) is if they only sell the non BC model and stop selling PS2, there will be no way for people who already own PS2 games on disk to play them. This would force them to buy the game again through PSN.
I know that at the moment their only talking about the marketing, but one day they will stop making PS2s. Hopefully by that stage PS3 model will be released with BC again.
Or the PS4 had just come out with BC.
Cute…I’m assuming your referring to me, well I am surviving on 3 hours sleep and doing the early shift...so I'm not running on all cylinders right now OK.
I would have to agree with the idea that it might appear on PS3 in 2 years. It'll probably do the rounds on 360 and do well in the states, but out side the states, they're going to wait and see how the sales for the PS3 go before porting it over.
Not sure how this game would be received in japan?
I really do think they shot them selves in the foot (no pun intended) by having the single player game in there.
Most people get this game for the online play, but most of the lost score is because of the single player game...that seems to be where most of the game reviewers seem to loose points.
But it is great to have the single player to at lest give it a try...its just sad that it looses the points because of it.
But they said not confirmed, they didn't say no it isn't.
But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Or it could be a bit of both.
With a PS3 sitting in his room, it won't be long before he doing more with it than just playing films.
Its good to know that word is getting out into the market and the sale rate is increasing. It should hopefully help the war end that much quicker.
That really was last nail in the coffin.
Now their just filling in the earth.
there are loads of games out there now that we can play online.
I really don't think this game would work as a multiplayer, the fighting style is like a puzzle in its self when go from hiding place to hiding place. this wouldn't work on multi as people will always run round the place shooting at each other and not using the cover very much, so it wouldn't work very well at all.
How many people have used Strangeholds online play? I've got the game, but never completed it, and hav...
