Go back to 03 and say that, CoD1 is far more similar to it's spiritual predecessor Allied Assault then Battlefield. If anything the expansion United Offensive played much more similarly to BF1942 then vanilla CoD1.
It was also one of the better WW2 MP games out back then. No hate for classic CoD, Big Red One doesn't get the same courtesy.

I only read the title of the article (Which isn't misleading) but it clearly says Ubisoft is agging those 12 year olds on! The rating system clearly indicates who the game gets marketed too.

Their has been a Closed and now Open beta, their will be a pre release demo. You have more then enough opportunities to figure out for yourself whether or not this is the game for you.
The score is irrelevant, especially when something subjective like "story" is dragging it down. Make the decision for yourself and just use review's to see if their are jarring control or bug/glitch issues. You'll be much happier.
I do admit the idea behind the game and how it's being marketed is pretty ridiculous. Your idea that the world is somehow more...lewd then it was before is more then laughable. Things are just easier to access now, but don't think for a second the world is less "decent" now then any other time in history.

STG44 was wayyyy OP in the PC version of WaW. With the way it fired in the WW2 mission in BO, I would say they hadn't adjusted anything with it. It fires lasers in that game, nothing like the CoD2 version.
You can really blame the people who purchased the Halo 2 maps, or the SOCOM 2 maps requiring you to buy a PS2 hard drive and 3 copies of OPM. I knew people who did all of it, and the funny thing is no one really played any of the SOCOM DLC.

You forget that Crysis you weren't limited to a narrow mission critical path, as well as the world not being split into cells. If I set explosives at the beginning of the level they would still be there at the end, ready to get blown up. Any major console game doesn't offer the freedom that Crysis gave you.
Mmmm keep in mind that Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 you were more often then not stuck in a very limited mission critical path. So if Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 have level designs similar to their predecessors, then they are free to pump more detail into small areas.
Crysis had much more open environments, certainly larger then anything seen in KZ2 or Uncharted 2. I have no doubt that the size of the areas will likely be smaller in Crysis 2, but for it to be a Crysis game it ha...
