Dynasty Warriors was great on the PS2, and I was always excited for future releases hoping they would nail the combat and allow for more then one basic infantry to attack at once. They still don't seem to have done any of that, just focus on getting rid of the ridiculous fog to hide the draw distance.
Just curious, but whats "colorful" about Dynasty Warriors characters? You know, besides the hideously awful VO.
I need Maximum speed for that, it's to bad the 5 options on the radial menu was to much for some people. Making strength a semi constant wasn't an awful idea, but the lack of the Speed option doesn't really make this game feel like Crysis.
I can't be the only one who thinks those "things" are ugly.
Sure a PS3 or 360 could absolutely run Battlefield 1942 with 64 player matches, but that doesn't mean it can run BF3 at acceptable framerates with 64 players, at the expected visual quality.
People have come to expect a certain level of visual fidelity in most games , for games like MAG and Warhawk to run there has to be concessions made in that department. It's all about balancing visual quality and framerate with the features of the MP.
Funny thing, most of these beta's aren't really beta's. Glorified demo's, or Stress Test's usually tethered to some other charge service or product making it essentially a paid demo. Hurray.
Any of you fine gents ever report a bug? Post in the OFFICIAL forums about balance issues? Probably not, which is a big part of a beta and omitting easy to use features to report bugs or at least detailed instructions to report them means, it's not really a beta an...
The article is more about Big Business, protecting big business, and how some of their illegal activity directly effecting you is allowed to happen without any or minor repercussions.
Bloodwake wasn't amazing, but it definitely was a novel way to spice up the vehicle combat genre and the XBox was kind of title starved at that time.
Yeah, I am just so excited for Ni No Kuni it really deserves a spot on that list.
Two of the released games on your list aren't even THAT great. Above average at best, Killzone 3 is just a tight corridor shooter.
@sGIBMBR
Not all of us prescribe to the one platform thing, and not all of us view the big3 as some kind of god that will forgive them of all transgressions if they just always unconditionally love whatever platform.
DA:O felt like a classic RPG, one that hadn't been seen all that often and that was enough to make it "refreshing" in a lot of people's eyes. Taking a step back kind of destroys what I found so enjoyable about DA:O. Playing the game with a M/Kb on an interface that felt like it had been made for the M/KB was just gravy.
Back in 03 CoD was a more explosive take on the formula popularized by MOHAA (Something most of IW had worked on before CoD).
I don't see how your "hate" argument about other games is relevant. Especially with WoW, as people "hate" on it for a all together different reason.
Who says you're going to need to upgrade it? The engine is a rewritten Frostbite engine, it will still run and look better then the console version without an upgrade.
*Edit*
Even Bad COmpany 2 was gimped on the consoles compared to the PC version.
Nobody has to upgrade to a PC, a simple understanding that their consoles don't sit anywhere close to the PC on a technical level would suffice.
Of course the games that have come out on the platform don't necessarily show this, mainly the lack of big budget PC games to show the hardwares capabilities. Beyond the usual framerate, and Resolution increase, the past few years haven't really been filled with tech advances that were integrated into a lot of games or we...
lol, some of these people need to quit with the CoD defense, we've all suffered through 3 sets of overpriced map packs and skin packs for CoD4 now. The madness has to end eventually, what I find most maddening is the CoD that tried to shake things up the most was the expansion pack for the first game.
United Offensive, I'll always love you.
Awww, your tears...they taste so good!
Higher Resolutions, Higher Framerates, Higher Res textures...the thing's console only gamers sling mud at one another over, I have with my PC. PC gaming doesn't suck, your close mindedness sure does though.
CoD is far from "tactical" or the only one around.
Infinity Ward may have only developed 3 games but they haven't been really all that DIFFERENT from one another. Even CoD1 is incredibly similar to CoD2, your argument there stands on shaky ground.
The Engine is also itself, a re written Quake 3 engine which they renamed CoDTech and I feel I need to stress that it has only gone through iterative updates through the past few games. Nothing to boo...
Been playing CoD since the first on the PC back in 2003, the hate has nothing to do with it being popular.
It has everything to do with the stagnation of a franchise I once loved, but have basically seen it get raped harder then Indiana Jones in Peru. It's hard seeing CoD4 get raped year after year, I know it doesn't look like CoD4 but it's..it. They just throw mud on it and say it's a "new one".
THIS!!!!!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Omfg, I am so sick and tired of seeing people praise Heavy Rain for it's story telling, visuals or facial animations. Everything was robotic and the emotion was layered on top of the shitty accents. It just didn't have anything that could be considered "emotional", I think this is just another case of people deluding themselves.
@Bkay
Heavy Rain looks the way it does because you're squished into a box during gameplay. If you noticed the larger areas are quite void of detail.
It's very unlikely to get the same level of detail, unless we're fighting inside the whole time.
Did he just...Alienware? Really? Now? Still? How? REALLY!? Alienware?
I thought most people on this site would have known they are scams by now.
