But I like Vista enough to keep it.
Things will improve, it's just the beginning of a new cycle.
I agree, these performance enhancements don't really mean anything to me, though I supposed it could effect the page file and gaming performance slightly. I would like to see some more game-related benchmarks.
...Well not the 4 dvi version but I freakin want this card :D
why people are generally preferring BluRay.
All the new features BluRay has were all available on HD DVD at launch.
HD DVDs are region free, and you don't need to put up with this BD+ junk.
Alas, it is true, and BD+ is a bonus to the manufacturers, but then again, the higher cost of BD-ROMs is not so great for the manufacturers.
Last time I checked the ESRB is one bad mofo you don't want to mess with!
Mass Effect is 17+. If it was a movie, it'd be PG-13.
We can all blame Fox news for this.
It sucks that 99% of the worlds population is educated by people that don't have an idea of what they're talking about.
Just looks to me like they have very different backgrounds and things going on in the game.
The 360 has amazing support from North American developers and I believe it is the only market the 360 has a chance of winning.
Not that it matters. All the consoles are selling well. As long as we keep some kind of balance, every console will be happy.
The 360 has shown it's no slouch. The PS3 sells, but it's not only considered a game console.
You can say the PS3 has more value than the 360, but the story is different when we are talking about in general, or simply as a gaming machine.
Why do we have to make everything a war!
You don't think the Xbox 360 will have a substantial price drop this year.
see any research on how many PS3s are sold as stand-alone BluRay players. They must be selling in this respect, the fact that it's the cheapest and only future-proof player, not to mention the relatively low attach rate.
When you need to release software in a time frame cuts happen constantly. Software is a really picky thing.
If BluRay is the successor it makes perfect sense to support it...
Sorry, but it's no more painful than Sony using Windows OS on their computers. This stuff happens, no big deal...
The only viable reason Microsoft had to support HD-DVD to begin with was likely because Toshiba payed them to market it.
Is it any loss or is it Microsoft's fault that HD-DVD is where it is? No. The player is dropping in price because Toshiba and those responsible for HD-DVD are making sure it drops in price. How is it any different from Toshiba selling $99 HD-DVD players.
Microsoft cares about digital distribution, their best payoff by supporting HD-DVD is to d...
She just made an ass of herself.
"Waits for 9000 disagrees"
Hrm. Maybe Sony's stealing some of that Folding@Home power to rule game sites and forums.
CURSE YOU CELL PROCESSOR! *shakes fist*
You bring up a very good point that needs to be considered more often :P
Yet. Look at the original Xbox and compare it to the Xbox 360. Think about the end of this generation and where they will be. You need to make an investment to get a return, you need to think of the big picture. Microsoft has already many times publicly stated that they did not plan to dominate the console market with the Xbox, not with the Xbox 360, and maybe not even with whatever is next. So far, they have taken a HUGE LEAP in the right direction, and if not for the hardware failures ...
Everything has to be labeled a "War" because a "War" sells ads :P
I think Microsoft will do just fine. I think the Xbox 360 will do just fine. The idea that just because the PS3 sold a little better in a year (while maintaining it's painfully low attach rate) the 360 is going in the gutter is a bit absurd. A lot of people talk without thinking of the big picture.
Sure the PS3 beat the 360 in sales, but how many were purchased as dedicated Blu-R...
Xbox 360 IS the only place you can play GTA4 AND Halo 3 :D
I agree, could have been worded better.
Maybe people just need to brush up their English skills though.
