It's the internet... Not Xbox Live. Anyone with any experience knows the internet is home to the socially inept dirtbags of the world. At least Xbox Live has a very strict rule set that is to be followed whereas you can pretty much do whatever you want on the internet.

I'd say it was Nintendo not investing enough to make the market early, and Sony failing to properly support BluRay causing the delayed launch. MS expected the PS3 to launch when they launched the 360!
They make it perfectly clear that you are breaking the terms of use by doing any hardware modification of the console.

I've never seen anyone who was banned from Xbox Live convincingly explain that they were not violating the terms of use. It's always "my little brother was playing and threatened to deer-shank that dudes mom" or "i dropped it and then it would play burned games, but it's not modded."
When you compare "performance" you ofcourse mean single-percision floating point performance. In scalar operations it's not tough to beat the Cell. The Cell wouldn't make a very good server processor.

Don't trust a disc format for backups unless they are changed often. Invest in a few 500gb hard drives. If you plan on keeping the discs in the closet for a few years the quality of the discs can degrade.
Unless you're like me and a cheap ass, then you could just go for the BD-Roms :P Have fun burning those slow things though :P
You are actually not quite correct. The point is it will be handled by the video card in an efficient manner reducing power consumption and making sure it plays back without a hiccup. It also allows for passive or low power cooling solutions because it uses much less power. Not to mention it frees up system resources.

ATi and nVidea have support for hardware level high definition video playback, it's not specific to BD, and includes HD-DVD video and other forms of high-definition video.

people would stop talking about technical specs. Now, if Power of Green's pics are untouched from the video, it's clear to me that the 360 atleast has better normal mapping, that's about all I can see. From the video, I saw absolutely no difference.
Can we stop arguing about the hardware? Honestly, when will you people realize how incredibly close the hardware is. You have to understand that the final hardware (talking CPU, GPU, MEMORY) didn't change a bit since the launch ...
Can you blame him? All the Sony advertising is about how the PS3 is way better than the 360. Have you ever seen their magazine ads near launch? It was horrible.

Done better by companies like Adobe. I have yet to see a piece of Sony software that is not garbage. They are a huge company and good with hardware, they need to spend more time in the software department. A good example is the PS3 operating system, doesn't it use something near 100mb of system memory to run in the background? It may look pretty and you may enjoy it but it's a resource hog and developers have to live without those resources.
The Xbox 360 has it's own version of direct x that is above 9b but below 10. I has many of the features of direct x 10 and even some 10.1 capabilities such as tesselation.
