@someonecalled

As much as I like Sony, I have to say that their biggest weakness is they don't support their gimmicks. I don't think VR is going to be any good so no, everything Sony is not gold.

They've still yet to come back from the N64.

The controller really isn't the problem though. I agree that it's unique and IMO they should stick with it and/or improve on it (I'm a Sony guy so I really don't mind having the same controller for every system xD). The problem is in the hardware and their third party policies (they did loosen those a lot overtime however but the damage had already been done.)

I really wish they wouldn't already be talking about a new console though. I wanted to get a Wii ...

The game already has those. Unless you mean full-auto. Anyway, I'd like to see the Fulton Gustav from Peace Walker make a return or a machine gun that shoots fulton bullets or something xD or the fulton punch from MGO. Yeah I fulton a lot xD

I hear you xD hell I already get distracted whenever she's on screen and she has (some) clothes on.

I'm mainly a console gamer myself but however you put it, lack of mod support on consoles is not a feature xD

I like the new direction Microsoft is taking. I'm still not sold on their consoles but it's a step in the right direction for sure.

Well said. I like open world but online gaming not so much. Diversity in games is where it's at.

MGSV was actually quite linear for an open world game in terms of story and progression though.

3805d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Tech or no, creating an open world game is a huge undertaking. One that only the biggest studios can afford to make. Indie developers and smaller studios are still limited in this domain. I think there will always be a demand for games that aren't open world (yes, apprently there's people out there who hate the open world formula- I don't get it but I'm not here to judge people's tastes.)

I don't think we're headed for an all open world games futur...

Cool costumes but that's all they are. I'm at 98% completion so I'm not sure I'll get them just to run around with the MGS3 sneaking suit (as awesome as it is) for an hour or so xD

To be fair, there have been Metal Gear games on Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony consoles but were much more successful on the latter. Therefore, people playing the kind of games Kojima makes are likely PlayStation owners. He also has a lot of connections at Sony from what I understand.

It's definitely suspicious xD I don't remember them ever officially confirming he was leaving the company though. They were always vague about it. I guess it's also possible they decided they need him after all.

Or maybe they're in denial like someone who just broke up and regrets it xD

They're entitled to their opinion just as you are. Doesn't mean they're necessarily sheep xD. I'm still undecided about it but mostly negative. Also, framerate alone doesn't make a game better than another. So far I had a lot more fun in MGO2 than MGO3. Still could change. I'll have to give it a few more tries.

Would be nice to get MGO2 back but since the HD collection didn't have MGO1 I can't see it happening. Here's to hoping though!

I feel the same so far. Tried it for a couple of hours and I was really disappointed as well. I keep telling myself I'll try it again. That maybe I was just starting. Played with a friend who was more interested in leveling up than enjoying the game itself. In 2-3 hours of play I somewhat enjoyed one match. It could have been much better like the first two MGOs. MGO1 is still my personal favorite but I still had a lot of fun with MGO2. A shame they shut down the servers.

I think GZ had a couple of placeholders as well. Like you said, all games have that.

It's a real waste indeed though I think it's portable to pretty much any platform from what I heard so I wouldn't be too surprised if they released mobile games running FOX. Most game engines these days can be easily ported to phones.

If they really leave it there and don't use it anymore then it truly is a complete waste.

I'm not sure how much blame should go to Kojima. Some, maybe. Cutting content and throwing in microtransactions is more of a producer/publisher move. Konami is filling that role. I'm not saying Kojima is perfect but I don't think he's had 100% freedom with the game.
