Not at all surprising. PS4 is crushing Xbox in its home territory as well. PS4's gamer-friendly approach has really paid off I would say.
Sure the super slim wasn't gorgeous but that wasn't the point. It was more compact and had more HDD space. They cut some aesthetic corners to make make the value better. If they did a PS4 super slim I would not mind at all because it's just more options for us consumers.
PS3 had a slim and then a super slim and the PS2 had a slim too. They've been doing it for generations so why stop now? :P
Iwata has a lot of control over the company though so you could put a lot of blame on him if you want to. I personally feel like the hatred is overblown though. For all the bad stuff he's done he's also done some good stuff and he brought Nintendo quite a lot of success up until Wii U. So outright firing him seems pretty harsh IMO.
I think it is a little of both since Mario Kart just came out and we still have a ways to go before the rest of the Wii U must haves are out, especially Smash which is supposedly coming out just before Christmas. I'm curious to see Mario Kart and Smash sales at that time.
Sometimes downsizing is just a part of the process. Sony and their studios will be fine as always. By the way, that new logo looks sexy as hell. :D
Hey, it's not all Sony 'fanboys'. It could be Xbox fans or PC fans. Not all of us hate Nintendo either but if you compare sales you have to do it properly. You can't compare sold to shipped because it doesn't make for a fair comparison.
If we're objective it shows Iwata has not done an amazing job with Wii U but I agree that he's doing a good job in terms of recovery. He has good points and bad points but there's little balance in the actual debate. If the Iwata article on N4G is any indication, it looks like people hate Iwata so much that they are okay if he's removed through illegal scheming or if it means making Nintendo a mobile software company. That's not to say there isn't legitimate criticism ...
You're right, they are assumptions. There's nothing definitive to say it's true. Call it a hunch since Capcom has no enthusiasm for Mega Man these days. Also congrats on getting your bubble back. :)
Why would you only want one or two games though? Wouldn't you want full access to the library?
Not sure why you got a disagree since we both asked for the same thing. :[ A subscription service would be the best value for any amount unless the rentals were dirt cheap. At the most I could pay $1 to rent a game for a day because lots of the retail games on the service can be purchased physically for cheaper than the 30 day rental fee. A flat rate with unlimited access would definitely win back the consumer.
I did some googling after discussing it with another N4G user and he accurately pointed out that this loss is actually pretty small compared to the other losses Nintendo took and they have been going on a climb since their first loss in decades. First one was half a billion then a quarter billion and now less than half of that. So right now Nintendo is losing money but it looks like they are slowly getting back on track.
This author is trying to compare a squad based online multiplayer first person shooter to a survival stealth action game. What the heck. -.-
I agree, I'd love a new Sly on PS4. One that could maybe have visuals similar to the movie. PSASBR should get a sequel though. They could totally expand on it and really flesh it out. I know a lot of people thought the first was a ripoff of Smash, but it was good in its own way and had some really cool ideas. I want to see a followup.
To be fair, Vita had a headstart and is also selling quite well in Japan. Wii U also sold around the same if not a little higher than Xbox One for the past few weeks. Does that speak more for Xbox's failure or Wii U's success?
It's what is to be expected from Sony's best developer on PS4. I'd be disappointed if we got anything less than this not that I'd expect it from Naughty Dog.
Us gamers win fun times and entertainment. The companies win lots and lots of moolah. :P
Lower prices are better for all of us, but I feel like this service would benefit greatly from being more Netflix and even Gamefly. One flat payment and you get access to everything and not just one game. On a Sony platform I'm willing to go as high as $20 a month for it. They could even discount it or even make it free for PS+ users too.
Very big claim. But the beta I played was solid IMO. Fun squad gameplay that has a lot of potential if they make some necessary changes like better connectivity to other squads and some more customization options. I'm looking forward to it whether or not it is as big as Halo.
