Well of course that's just PR talk. That being said, DX12 is supposed to improve the console somehow and that's not something we've seen during a console cycle before (correct me if I'm wrong). I'd like to see what improvements are made, if any.
PS4 getting more optimization doesn't really cancel out Xbox One's Direct X12 improvements. It just means both consoles are going to perform better and have better looking/running games on them.
Keep in mind, this IS game journalism. Lots of sensationalism happens around these parts.
Don't know why people are disagreeing with you, this is pretty dead on about how hardware and software work. Software only works as well as the hardware is optimized to run it. There are no ifs, ands or buts about that.
What? Play MGS2 then go play MGSIV. They play nothing alike. And MGSV is more like IV than 2 from what I've seen. No fixed camera angles and Snake uses a ton of tactical espionage moves. Raiden does cartwheels.
Another good way to handle would be that for anyone who bought Ground Zeroes gets a $30 discount on Phantom Pain, so you're essentially getting the package together for the price of one. that would have been another excellent way to go about it without getting rid of the $30 price tag.
Hey, it's always nice to get confirmation. Now we know for certain that Uncharted 4 will be shown at E3. Better than a baseless rumor, right? ;)
edit: Whoops, my bad. I didn't read the insider part lol. Okay so I guess this IS a rumor then. Bummer. But hey, I hope he's right! Uncharted is definitely another one of my jams.
Exactly. Whatever they showcase at E3, I reckon Naughty Dog will show that even with new talent they still got it.
"become super p***** off because they've changed the format and it's not Uncharted anymore. Nolan and co aren't involved, it might have a different time period and could end up becoming a very dark, super serious story."
Oh man. Did North confirm he wasn't voicing Drake in 4? That's just the straw that broke the camel's back for me. His voice is perfect for Drake. :(
That is a fair criticism, but thankfully that doesn't always apply. Uncharted and Battlefront were both showcased last year in some form and that must mean they have playable builds to show. Which can also mean that they are due out by next year at the latest. Not all games are Half-Life 3 or The Last Guardian (thankfully). I'd suggest just going in without any expectations. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. :)
Hear, hear! I am so itching to see how Uncharted 4 plays in motion. :)
Halo does have pretty high production value and it is one of the biggest gaming franchises in the western market. I'm surprised that the OP had so many disagrees. Halo's not a bad franchise to be excited for at all. That being said, I'm more interested in Star Wars Battlefront and Destiny.
Boy oh boy do I feel ya. E3's definitely going to be one of the deciding factors for which hardware I buy this year.
Awesome! But what about strafing? Gimme dat strafing, guys!
I think I disagree. Some gamers are simply bitter because they can't/don't want the other console, but get frustrated when other people seem to enjoy them. Not a lot, but I think some do. I'm sure you've seen my comments, right? I think I'm as neutral a Sony fan as they come, but I've been labelled a Nintendo fanboy and a Microsoft fanboy (even called a traitor) all within this month lol. Fanboys are insecure, I think. That's the best word for any fanboy who gets m...
PS2 classic or remake will honestly do. Don't know why it's taking them so long.
Actually I don't think there's been any comment on that at all. If they have, then that's great! But if not then that's a shame. I'll have to wait until Ground Zeroes is super cheap before I get it.
More content for those with PS4s who never played those games. The best way to not support those releases you don't care for, is simply by voting with your wallet and sticking with the earlier version you may own. Or just avoid it entirely.
Probably when the game is completed and released. Walking Dead season 1 was bundled with the Vita at some point.
She might have heard it from a guy who heard it from another guy who might work a bit higher up at Nintendo. Would be nice, but it seems unlikely it's true. Nintendo's almost never done demos for their first party games.
