Same. MS broke my trust this past generation. When you buy a Nintendo or PlayStation console, you KNOW you're getting quality exclusives. With MS, I simply don't have that same assurance. McCaffery is one of the biggest Xbox apologists in the gaming media, so I take anything he says with a grain of salt because its never truly objective. MS will have to prove it to me before they get my money.
How exactly is the story "far leftist trash"? What do you even mean when you say that?Qualify your point of view on this. Is it simply because it features two gay characters and a trans character? Is it because it features an abnormally strong female character? What's wrong with that? You do know those people exist in the real world, right? Heaven forbid a game gets created that doesn't simply feature straight white males.
Yeah sure. The fact that its a fantastic game had zero to do with it, right? It was TOTALLY driven by politics. I'll bet you think the election was rigged too dont you.
@Imalways right.
Joel got soft. He found his home. He reconnected with his brother. He had another daughter-like relationship with Ellie. Plus he found a sense of community and security. His guard was down. Plus let's face it, he also got 4 years older. Whats funny is Bill prophesied this in the first game! He told Joel...

Well...it did. Whats the point in complaining over it now? Some would say Red Dead 2 shouldve won over God of War. Some think Horizon Zero Dawn shouldve won over Zelda BOTW. Some thought Fire Emblem: Three Houses shouldve won instead of Sekiro. Its all subjective anyway. Every year there's a group of people who think game "A" unfairly won and game "B" shouldve been the winner. This year was no different and next will be the same.
I was hoping for a new IP as I've never been a huge fan of this series. But we'll see.
@Bathyj
Just curious, are you playing on an LG OLED? If so, I understand why. They do a fantastic job of upscaling to 4K. Of course it's not a true 4K image but still, 1080p upscaled on my LG looks really good!
"not to mention Sony doesn't officially support 1440p anyways. "
@Neonridr
The PS5 can absolutely run games at 1440p if devs choose to do so. I think you're getting that confused with the fact that the PS5 will not natively support a 1440p monitor. If you have a 1440p only monitor and have a PS5 hooked up to it, it will only downscale to 1080p. However if you have a 4K monitor or TV, a game can absolutely downscale to 1440p if the de...
@AnnaDea
Wow talk about reading too much into something. I'm well aware of the PS5 GPU capabilities. I simply said "it would've been nice..." I didn't say it SHOULD be 1440p and how dare they!"
Would've been nice if it could've hit 1440p@60fps+RT. However my TV does do a nice job of upscaling 1080p to 4K, so it's all good!
And until the PS5/XSX patches get released, it's still not a "next gen" game.
Let me guess, reviewed by Ryan McCaffery. LOL!
@I_am_Batman
Incorrect! Going gold does not mean the game is finished. Going gold means that all of the data that is going onto the actual disc is done. However that doesn't mean the game itself if finished.
"It just begs the question, why not do this before reviews and launch?"
Because we'd probably be waiting until this time next year for the game if they did. Don't get me wrong, I could've waited. I'm already waiting until the PS5 upgrade patch is released. However I don't know if CDPR could've afforded to wait that long.
@AnnaDea
Games should be reviewed on the merit of the status they are in at the time they are played. Not on the merit of what they could potentially be in the future. Days Gone was a buggy mess at launch and it got reviewed as such. It's a vastly better game now but do I think it should've gotten better scores at the time it launched? Nope! The game was what it was at that time. These 10/10 scores are ridiculous. Bravo to PC Gamer for giving an honest review...
@Elda
"When you have your very own video game awards show then you can dictate who can be presenters & ban Hollywood from being presenters."
LMAO! Wow! Thank you for so condescendingly pointing that out to me as I TOTALLY thought I had the right and the power to make actual decisions regarding the Game Awards. Dude, we're just having a conversation. I personally do not feel that the gaming industry needs to tether itself to Hollywood...
Nailed it.
Why not? For the same reason why the Academy Awards do not have Shigeru Miamoto or Neal Druckman as Oscar presenters. Its not their field! The gaming industry has its own "celebrities" to draw on. It doesnt need Hollywood starlets to create interest.
You and I rarely see eye to eye but on this we are in complete agreement! The videogame industry is a multi-BILLION dollar industry. Total revenue generated from videogames on a yearly basis surpasses revenue generated by Hollywood. Yet somehow our industry STILL thinks it has to attach itself to Hollywood for mainstream validation. We don't need them! Its Hollywood that is slowly becoming less relevant! I even cringed when we learned that Keanu Reeves was attached to Cyberpunk 20...
@The Wood
Right?? What spell does MS have these sheep under? Ill never in a million years understand how anyone looks at that platform and says "Yep!: Thats the one for me!" When their competition just completely knocks the snot out of them game wise. I could understand it if the platforms were more comparable but they're really not close at all.
