One thing to consider with this PC in a box approach by MS, that means there will no longer be optimized Xbox specific code for future games. When someone buys an "Xbox" version of a next gen game, they'll just be getting the PC sku. There wont be any specific optimization for that device, the way there is for a closed platform console. At that point you really are better off just building a rig.
It looks incredible!
Nobody cares
Wow, it seems like a lot of people hate the truth, lol.
Looked? No. Ran? Yes!
@RaidenBlack
Thats the point I was trying to make. Clockwork is a new IP and already it looks like a more worthy game to charge 80.00 for.
My thinking exactly. This IP went from being this unassuming indy darling to now suddenly an 80.00 tentpole franchise in one sequel? LOL! If they were going to do this, they at least should've picked something more established like COD or E-Day. Hell, Clockwork Revolution looks like a more worthy 80.00 purchase than this.
@RaidenBlack
"You are forgetting its a handheld."
No, we're not doing this. I refuse to allow Nintendo this "get out of jail free" card everytime a 3rd party game runs worse on its hardware vs Sony's and MS'. Especially considering it costs more to buy!
First of all, its not a handheld, its a dockable hybrid! Nintendo is the one who chose this wonky hybrid design, rather than making a real home conso...
Right? What is with all these "atta boy" articles for Switch 2 ports of old games? This is Nintendo's new generation. I should hope they run LAST gen games well and even games like Cyberpunk already cant hit 60fps on Switch 2! Let's see how it handles games like Blackmyth Wukong or Warhammer 40K SM2, if those get ported over.
I dont hate the Switch 2. I will get one eventually but it will be to play Nintendo 1st party titles only.
Im just saying, let's stop with the patronizing praise for 3rd party games that are running at inferior framerates and resolutions, as if its some great accomplishment on a device that costs more than a PS5 Slim and far inferior in performance. There is no reason whatsoever any self-respecting gamer would choose to play this inferior port over playing it on PC or...
Ahhh yes. The built in "get out of jail free card" for every single criticism when Switch 2 game that runs inferior to the competition.
"There are two graphical modes: Quality, which targets 30fps and higher fidelity; and Performance, which ekes things out to an unusual (for a console) 40fps."
Lmao!! This not "superb". This is subpar.
I'd go even further and say this saved it. Until this was shown I was pretty disappointed.
This saved the SOP honestly. Without this, it would've been nearly a waste of my time. It looks fantastic!
And not in a good way! GOW 2018 was not what I was expecting either, and it blew me away! However this is like a popcorn fart in church.
Right? It's like buying a pizzas for a group of friends and then taking credit for making them. Lol!
@CrimsonWing69
But it wont be a "console" anymore. It's simply a repackaged PC that will never be fully optimized. Calling it a console is antiquated language. A console is a "walled garden" experience with custom architecture where developers work to optimize its hardware. It sounds like what MS is doing is basically throwing PC components into a box and calling it a day. You may as well just build your own PC. This is Steambox 2.0. In one br...
It's failure is because of three very simple reasons...
1. Requiring gamers to outright purchase their games AND pay a subscription fee just to play them is a terrible business model. You can ask us to pay one or the other, but not both! Yes I know they offered a "free" tier but it was at a shifty resolution no one wanted.
2. Stadia did not offer enough in the way of exclusive titles that couldn't be played elsewhere. You need that ...
Series S is 4 TF.
I wouldn't be surprised if this game was originally meant for the Switch Pro, which was scrapped in favor of the Switch OLED due to chip shortages at the time. To me, the game just doesnt feel like a true next gen iteration of the series.
Rather than going the open world route, I wish the Mario Kart team had focused on customization. It would've been cool if they could've given us the tools to design our own karts and tracks. They could've called it Mario...
