Having played the 2nd and having heard good things about the first I'm looking forward to this.

Playing as a marine is a lot of fun if you can call being scared fun lol. The most enjoyment I'll have is playing as a Predator and stalking my prey from the trees.

edit: Yeah I've heard that about the first one. As much fun as I have playing survival horror type games I hate playing them in the dark lol. Call me a wuss lol but it does sometimes put me off playing a game e...

What's with the 19" monitor comment?
Come on, you know PC gamers are hobbiests and as such they do tend to invest in larger screens for their gaming pleasure.

I don't think you understand.

There's no need for uber hacks, overclocks or anything else. All you have to do is a few google searches for the hardware you're interested in and you'll find tonnes of information about it and just how good it is.

Also, as a PC gamer, I'm surprised you didn't have an active interest in PC gaming as thats what helps keep PC gamers up to date with what's going on in the world of PCs.

can't have been much of a PC gamer to be forking out every 6 months.

edit: yeh I'm not quite sure why so many people get worked up about it since it doesn't matter as long as they can play it. PC gaming's a hobby and like any hobby it can be expensive but you don't need to spend a lot to run PC games which is something a lot of people don't get.
You just need to spend a little time to make some well informed choices about the hardware you buy.

Sega's given the PS3 some really great games it's just the ports that are the problem.

That's not much. I kind of expected it to sell a lot more on 360 but as TheBlackSmoke points out it's a real shame that FPS are about the only games that fly other than maybe RPGs.

Yeah it sill looks good but once you've seen the 360 pics it's not quite the same as the difference is that big. Thankfully it's still pretty fun to play and is worth picking up when it's cheaper.

I'll be picking it up once I find it for less than £20.

Wow, I've seen that pic before and never noticed Kratos in it.

It's basically gears with lower poly models and relies heavily on the quality of it's textures to make it look good. Some of the level design seems pretty interesting though. It's one I'll pick up in a dry period for games as long as it's really cheap.

Didn't SCEA say they'd allow you to download a printable version of the EU boxart? They may have this on there too.

That can't be right can it?
With a $100 million in revenue from Prologue the profit can't be anywhere near $60 million and that's assuming all 3.5 million copies were sold at full price.

Normally I'd tell people to learn a thing or two about computer graphics which would help them distinguish graphical differences in games but for someone who can't tell the difference between Uncharted 2 and Gears 2 there's really nothing I can say.

I think the game is a 7/10 myself. 8 at the most and definitely worth playing.

edit: Took me 18 hours on my first play through on normal. Managed to get the abyssal armor and two of the legendary weapons upgrades too.

I agree but visually, I think this one stands out more because of the high contrast in colour.

The glasses are required to show a different offset image to each eye creating the illusion of depth.
http://electronics.howstuff...

There are lenticular displays in development which try to create a 3D image by sending the required light waves to the viewers eyes but the problem with that is that you have to sit in a certain spot in front of the screen to get the desired effect.

Yeh I was just thinking about this yesterday after watching Avatar in 3D

I haven't seen any ads here in the UK.

Pretty good game though and I'm looking forward to a sequal.

Not yet he isn't.
Not until I've completed it.

edit: it's describing a boss battle so I'm not going to read it. I'll wait for the game to experience it first hand.

Avatar is awsome. I watched it today in 3D but I have to admit I probably would have enjoyed it just as much without 3D since once you're used to the 3D you stop noticing the difference.

The Piranha 3D trailer showed me that 3D is only good when it's done well as there were quite a few parts in the trailer where the 3D wasn't great and looked a bit tacky.
