Hate to break it to you but Sony doesn't have monopoly on video game characters with depth they have always been here even before Sony entered the video game market.
The list of iconic popular characters. Characters that the general public relates to. Of course it's not going to please everyone.
My Favorite Are:

bah I'll wait in till the burners hit $200 mark, in till then it's pointless for me to buy one. All my work backups have to be read on multiple computers not just the few with a blu-ray drive

Uncharted and R&C are definitly AAA (I know since I've played both). The whole argument that "the PS3 has no good games" is as old as the whole XBOX360 only has FPS".
... which ever system that has the most exclusive games on it that you want to play.
That even goes for next year, because not everyone is hyped for MGS4 or Killzone2. Give me Sacred 2, Fallout 3, Too Human and I will be a happy gamer.
I agree with MK_Red, I have no doubt that the PS3 can last 10 years but technology changes so fast that PS3 will be completely outdated by even the hand-held systems by then.

I have 10 years of professional website design/development and I am pretty sure I could be somewhat helpful.
Personally I wouldn't have either in my computer for at least another 5 years or in till one saturates the market enough. Enough so that I can burn a disc from home to either bring in to the office or a client's office.
@HarryEtTubMan : I don't care who wins it's just pointless for me to own BD drive or the HDVD equivalent at the moment, when I can't make backups that work on any computer.
Once access to Fiber Optics become more common expect all the entertainment mediums to merge.
Everything will be on demand and getting up to insert/change a disc will feel same it does to get up and walk over to the tv to change a channel.
I don't think Microsoft is lying when it comes how many consoles they sold, but they might off with the outselling the PS3 by a 2 to 1 margin.

I doubt it's getting worse, like anything on the internet it's blown way out of proportion and most likely will never go away (thanks to fanboys).
Funny thing even if included... Final Fantasy doesn't even come close to my Top Ten list of RPGs.
It's hard to tell, all companies spin there numbers somewhat.
I never had issue when I had to replace my PS2 3 times in 7 years. I am for sure not going to have any issue replacing my x360 if it breaks down.

Wow that interview was awful I didn't learn anything new about Haze at all. During the whole interview PSU was trying to get Derek to say something negative about xbox360, and congrats to Derek for not taking the bait.

Buy/Rent/Borrow make you own decision don't allow your enjoyment of a game to be affected by someone else's review.
