Sounds like a honest mistake to me.
I'm not a big fan of multiplayer aspect of gaming, but the Horde mode does sound like fun and plan on giving it a shot.
True, Resident Evil 4 was fun but I never found it to be scary. A better choice would have to be Heavy Rain.
Well so far this generation there hasn't been a great 3rd person survivor horror game (IMO, I didn't like Siren) and it looks like the newest Silent Hill isn't going to change that.
Hopefully Alan Wake and Resident Evil 5 will change that next year.
I completely disagree with most of the article. I remember quite well remember the NES/SNES days of my youth.
Sure I have fond memories of those times, but unlike the author of this article I don't consider that to be the golden age of video games.
Gaming to me didn't really show it's potential in till the onset of the late 90s where more developers started to focus more on storyline.
When I was growing up I play a lot computer games that he developed.
Gems like Populous, Syndicate, Magic Carpet, Dungeon Keeper and Black & White.
A lot of skill went into that splash page. Beautiful and crisp video and the slight darkening effect when you roll over the navigation was brilliantly done.
I have nothing but respect for "Peter Molyneux" if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be the gamer I am today.
Good review, looks another title I have to add to my list next month.
Now I just have to either juggle playing Fable2 and LBP or save LBP for my december break, where I'll have to juggle playing it with Fallout3.
The demo was fun, though I'm not a racing game fan. Though I might rent next time my brothers come by and visit.
Nice preview I hope the PS3/X360 version is still due out this November.
Most times when game levels are created randomly it often means boring and uninspired level design, but since Fuel is a racing/combat game it might actually work. It will be interesting to see.
I had more fun with GTA4 then with any previous 3D GTA games (the original is still tops in my book) and GTA clones (Saint's Row).
It was just commenting on the vibe this preview and new gameplay trailers gave me for R2.
As an example the "Goliath" battle looks fun, and reminds me of the Strider battles in Half-Life2.
I just watched a few gameplay movies and after reading this preview and overall I have good feeling about the game.
Most of the hardcore Sony fanboys will disagree with me on this point but I am getting a Half-Life2 feel about R2. Which for me is excellent as I consider Half-Life2 to be one greatest FPS ever.
@Fishy_Fingers : I have no doubt, I'm pretty sure the Half-Life series is on most developers "inspired by" list.
Both and add-in "Sacred 2" and "The Last Remnant" and I will be in RPG heaven this winter
Might have to pick it up if it turns out decent. Though at the moment I predicting it will probably be this years "Soldier of Fortune".
Pretty weak cost comparison in my opinion. Both the hard drive and wireless modem aren't needed to play any games on x360 or to even go online.
At least the Arcade (sku) comes with a memory card, which was a step up from last console generation.
the big issue with the Yahoo's list is that it is geared towards casual gamers and what games are going to be popular this holiday season.
Which would explain why games like James Bond were on the list. Since no matter how good the game turns out to be. It will sell like crazy.
While it takes Valve years to come out with a title. They have always released a quality product. With the minor exception of the PS3 version of "Orange Box" which is most likely due EA handling the port and rushing it out before xmas.
I always find it interesting the logic of fanboys that diss developers as lazy if don't like their platform. While praising developers that only develop for their platform.
Back to the article itself. The original Half-Life w...
