This wasn't even a worthwhile article. Click bait header for a few pointless paragraphs that says nothing other than "hey, there's a game that works like Wii Sports". Dunno what I expected from Yahoo Finance to be honest...
I've just been on to check mine and there's been no change in my VIP status. Is this just a US thing?
I'd disagree you have to own all consoles to be a true gamer. In my opinion to he true gamer you to try everything and give credit where it's due. You need to care less about graphics and pees and instead focus on content and gameplay.
The number of people who call themselves "true gamers" and only rave about graphical fidelity and dismiss indies is too high.
Whatever your gaming device of choice, you're not wrong, just different.
@Jamesx82x
I'm on the preview program so I shouldn't really be complaining about issues I'm having but the point about taking apps an age to load is pretty accurate. Not all of them mind, but Skype, friends, party and achievements are painfully slow to load.
I'm also finding the occasional bit of UI lag. Hit the home button, nothing happens. Wiggle the sticks to see if it's crashed and all of a sudden it's gone back to the home screen ...
@letthewookiewin where specifically did I say or imply that Ryse was better looking than The Order? Like I said, Ryse is a good looking game or is that not allowed because it's on X1 and MS are the devil?
If I'm getting disagrees for my Until Dawn comment, cool, but if it's the Sony brigade doing the rounds get a grip. There's nothing wrong with liking something on another platform.
Shhhh, don't tell anyone but I think Irn Bru is a superio...
Ryse looks stunning but I'm probably giving it to Until Dawn at the moment. As for the comment below (above??) about The Order - yes it looks stunning, but that letterbox...
Aye I saw that in the blog about trolling, lies and blah blah blah, made me laugh.
Aw man, now I really want to play that imaginary game! This looks gorgeous. There's something hauntingly beautiful about the wasteland, all that sand and emptiness...
I really want this to be good even though I'm undecided. My bank account hopes it reviews poorly cos then I can remove it from my list ha.
Ah, disagrees for well placed film references. WTF!?!
These two gave me a chuckle.
Ha seems you need to can it with the requests for multiplayer. Ever time I see it you get a good few disagrees.
There's plenty of these games could support multiplayer but with the size of the world in this I don't think it would be a fit. I like the idea though but what about this - A persistent open world styled MMO with the aim being to control the water and the fuel? Everyone joins a faction and territories constantly change hands with the outsiders needing to ban...
After my question in the other thread about the twitch archives about the length it's a pleasant surprise to hear it can clock in at 9 hours. That's a lot more game than I expected and that's pretty awesome. I must admit with some of the recent releases as well as what's on the horizon (no pun intended cos I'm loving the look of Horizon) it's becoming increasingly difficult not to drop £350 on a PS4 bundle.
The problem I have with the comments section is that your bubbles and commenting ability are directly linked to your agrees/disagrees and my observation is that a lot of pro-Sony and anti-MS comments get a big thumbs up and vice versa. I know however that this is just my opinion just as you clearly feel it's the opposite way about.
Quite funny this blog popped up cos I actually sent something similar to the mods early this morning. Still no idea how I didn't notice it...
@lamertamer
"Actually you don't own any of the digital titles, MS does, they just give you a (revocable at any time) license to use."
I risk the wrath of the community here by pointing out the obvious but this isn't exclusive to MS. None of us own the games we've purchased whether it's digital or disc on XBOX, PS or Ninty. Read the EULA or whatever the US/Japanese or whatever equivalent is and they will all state you are merely being...
I don't see anything wrong with shutting down the archived videos as it prevents folk from just watching the game in its entirety.
Anyone any idea how long a play through should take cos if its only a few hours, maybe the length of a movie, it would definitely put me off a purchase. From what I've read it encourages multiple runs at the story to really experience everything as every character can be killed depending on your choices.
We've got a store in Glasgow that breaks UK high street dates. Usually it's only by a few days but it puts us on an equal footing with the US. I still don't understand why the US launches are a Tuesday and the majority of EU releases are a Friday especially with the rise of digital distribution. Drives me mad that the US got GoW yesterday but over here we need to wait til Friday. Still, the guys in the store are giving me my copy of TPP on Saturday so happy days!
"Do we really want to spend hundreds maybe thousands on a game library that will be at the mercy of a third party to continue support, which eventually will stop?"
Don't we do this every time we buy technology? Support isn't indefinite for anything we buy, eventually it all becomes obselete. How many games on your PC/PS2/XBOX etc etc that have online components still work today?
Personally I'm excited by the potential but that's all ...
I'll be picking up a PS4 when No Man's Sky and Horizon make and appearance until then I'm more than happy to play the multiplats on my XB1. It's not fair to say neither console has games worth playing because it's just not true. Not every exclusive is a console seller either. Being an XBOX gamer is like a death sentence on here at times but despite the lack of games I have 3TB of stuff sitting on my drives that I've bought in the last 12 months. I've added more to ...
A single player FPS works if the story is up to scratch and it's fun to play - while divisive, the new Wolfenstein titles prove that SP can work (at least to me and many more). EA only think single player is dead because Medal of Honor died on its arse and can't come up with a decent idea. It doesnt help CoD over developed the MP and neglected the SP so it became the same bland, angsty, bullshit. At the end of the day I want to be able to carry a decent selection of guns and blow stuf...
I took a while to get used to but even then I didn't enjoy using it. All the tank battles were made worse when it repopulated all the islands half way through the game after trying to clear them.
I enjoyed the game as a whole, but the bat-tank was overused. Completely ruined The Riddler challenges and I've always had fun doing them in previous gamed.
Didn't ruin the game but it didn't add anything. I flew everywhere unless it was mandatory.
If was decent on the WiiU and I'll probably pick it up again if its going cheap. Anything over £20 though and I'll wait for a sale. I enjoyed the permadeath mechanic but it was never difficult enough to really make you fear for the zombies other than at a few horde moments. Even then you just needed to funnel them through a door and it was easier to deal with the pack.
Hopefully this is successful enough to spawn a sequel where they can expand on the ideas.
Exactly the same arguement I have.
Supermassive aren't an EA/Rockstar/Ubisoft sized company but have put out a well received, graphically impressive game that has occasional but not game breaking performance. People assume everyone has the same experience with the hardware and want everything to look like the world outside their window but in reality it's a big ask. Especially when they used someone else's engine and had to overhaul it from a PS3 Move title to a P...
