OMG....There are too many articles being posted with pointless views.
The simple fact, any network or system will eventually be hacked so the hack and down time is not sonys fault.
What the biggest issues that many have are with sonys lack of updates at the start of this fiasco and the fact that personal data was not encrypted.
If most are unaware - Personal Info has more value than credit cards.

I agree that its not sonys fault they got hacked. Because at some point they would have been hacked.
But what is there fault is trying to battle the entire hacking community.
What is there fault is not securing personal details and such data.
According to the data protection act, Data must be securely held and used for the purposes stated.
The only fault I personally see, is that sony didnt encrypt personal data.

Yes the xbox has been hacked in a number of ways, even xbox live has been hacked. But xbox live has not leaked any personal info ever, the PSN has.
Sony didnt let anyone know for a week.

I hope you understand that a credit card has less value when compared with your personal information.
Personal info can lead to identity theft, loans being purchased in your name.
Trust me I have no problem with Sony, I have a bravia TV, I used to have a vaio laptop and I am thinking about buying the sony tablet, but the fact that personal information is not secure will always be in the back of my mind.

Sooo many people are angry that their has been a data breach so they hate sony more.
This data hack has nothing to do with piracy, it has to do with the lack of encryption of data. Something which Sony have taken for granted, and I do expect in many countries that Sony will be fined for not holding the data protection act.
So the 'hackers goal' is achieved and mission status is success.

If anyone has linked any bank/card details, just let your bank or card issuer know and they will send out new info.

Sony are likely to get fined, but knowing the ICO who didnt fine google, they could get away with it.
Having lost all the data sony have I do hope that they get fined because my personal info is more important than my consoles or the console war.

But look at GTA IV, yes many purists didnt like it as much as previous versions (SP) since MP didnt exist on the official releases.
But it still had massive success and a multiplayer cult like following on all 3 platforms.
Go on xbox, ps3 or PC and you will still find people playing it.
I mean many players still post youtube videos of that game.
EA have learned (to an extent - MOH) from their mistakes, as Im sure activision...
the ps3 was always well received, the only problem was at launch it cost a little too much but the fans still waited for the price drop and slim to be released before purchasing a ps3.
I got my xbox first, but I waited to get my ps3 once the slim was announced I bought the 250gb slim.
